Oh one of these weeks.

Yesterday I got a call from a good friend of mine. For the past 10 years on my birthday he either takes me to lunch or dinner and let me pig out of anything/everything I want. That includes drinks too. My favorite food is Italian so we go to a nice Italian Restaurant and eat hardy. When I say eat hardy I mean just that!!!!! I always leave the place drunk off my ass because Italian food just isn’t Italian without wine.

So he calls me yesterday and ask me what time should he pick me up? I have no idea what he’s talking about so I ask "Pick me up for what?"

When I said that he asked me if I was OK and I told him that I was fine.

"You have no idea what this Sunday is?" He said

"No" I replied

"Oh My God! They said the mind is the first to go with old age. GIRL YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS SUNDAY!!!!!"  

WTF????? I looked at the calender and he’s right! This Sunday is my birthday. I’ve been so caught up with preparing for this competition that I forgot all about my birthday!

I NEVER FORGET ABOUT MY BIRTHDAY!

Why? Because I’m not much of a holiday celebrator. Halloween? Pass! Thanksgiving? Blah! Christmas? No thanks! Valentine’s Day? **rolls eyes** But my birthday? OH HELL NO! The city of Atlanta needs to shut down in order to celebrate my birthday! That is a day I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever take for granted!

But for the first time in my life I will have to treat my birthday like any other day. :(

There’s no way I can go out there and pig out like that. My friend suggested that we celebrate anyway and I just eat a salad but I don’t want to do that. When someone is spending their money on you and you can buy any damn thing you see on the menu why in the hell would you pick a f*ckin’ salad?

Exactly!

So we decided to postpone it until my arrival back from Germany in May.

Ugh! This sucks major monkey balls! I can’t believe I’m not gonna "go all out" on my birthday. :(

Oh boy do I have a special treat for you guys today! You all get to see a rare appearance from some of my crazy friends at the gym. Remember how I said that I hate my gym but I love the people who go there? They are the ONLY reason I’m a member. Since I’m the only female who lift weights I’m treated like the "little sister" of the bunch. We joke and talk trash to one another (I love that!). Oh and we dance! Remember two months ago I mentioned dancing after a set? Well you get to see that too. I didn’t come to the gym late enough because once I arrived a few of my friends were still there and you’ll see them in the background acting crazy.

BTW- They are not acting special just for the camera. This is how they ALWAYS act! Actually today they toned it down because I was filming my workouts. It looks like I’m going to have to make sure I show up later than usual if I want some peace and quiet during my filming.

I have two more videos coming after this one.

Around 3:30ish this afternoon my IPOD died!

I called tech support and we have spent over 20 minutes trying to revive it. After I hung up from tech support I tried it on my own for over two hours. Alas to no avail I couldn’t revive him.  Now he’s gone to that big Apple Techware System in the sky.

So let’s take this moment of silence for my loyal and devoted friend IPOD Nano!

A Perfect Stranger

So you all remember the “Lesbian Crew” I talked about on Monday right? Well the tallest one of the bunch came into the gym again yesterday but her two friends couldn’t make it because they had to work. Monday was a holiday so they all decided to workout together since both of them were off and Sharon (The tallest one) was self employed and visiting.

Here’s some info about Sharon. She’s 5’11 and weighs about 190 or 195 with about 8% bodyfat. She lives in New Jersey but was born and raised in the Bronx (New York). Sharon use to compete between 1997 – 2003. Every year she competes she qualifies (wining 1st or 2nd)  for the NPC Nationals but never goes because she prefers to compete in her local area. Bodybuilding was something to do and a good way to get sexy women! (Her words not mine) She owns a management and security company for well known exotic dancers who travel around the world. She’s also a personal trainer and co-owns a gym in Trenton, New   Jersey with one of her brothers. She has a girlfriend in New York, one in Miami and another in Texas. She showed me pictures of these girls and they all were drop dead gorgeous!

Now you all are probably asking yourselves “How do I know all this stuff about this person?” Well let me tell ya! I’ve been spending countless hours with Sharon since I saw her in the gym yesterday morning.

Yesterday was biceps and triceps day. As soon as I reached for some dumbbells I heard that familiar deep female voice again. “What you working on today?” She asked

“Arms” I replied

“Cool! I’ll workout with you then”

Now I picked up a 25lb dumbbell and she reaches over and pick up 50lbs! She looks over at me and said “Isolations for 15 each arm” After that set we went up 5 pounds. She went to 55 and I went to 30lbs. We went for 15 reps again. For the third set she went to 60 lbs. I looked at her and said “I can’t do 15 reps with a 35!” So she told me to grab it anyway and give her ten. So I take the 35lbs and start to curl. When I got to ten she gives a big loud clap and yells “One more!” I curl the dumbbell one more time “Give me two more! You got it in you!” My biceps are burning like fire but I manage to curl two more reps thinking that will satisfy her but NOPE “Come on! One more and then you’re done!” So I look at her like she was crazy with sweat forming on my face and I mustered up the strength to do one more and while I’m lifting the barbells she says nonchalantly “Fourteen reps? Shit! You should go ahead and hit fifteen since you made it this far but if you’re the type of person who runs 14 miles just to stop at the finish line then drop those weights and quit.”

OMG!!!!!!!!! I WANTED TO CHOKE HER!!!!!!!!!!!

But you know what? I curled that f*cking weight for 15 reps. I felt so alive after that! She came over and pats me on the back while I was bent over heaving in air and said “Good job girl! I knew you could do it!” WHAT A RUSH! The rest of my workout went the same way and we met again today for round two (legs). Right now my arms and legs are soooooooooo sore!

The entire time I was with Sharon asking her a ton of questions. Then I found myself unloading all my thoughts, fears, frustrations and concerns on her. She patiently listened to every word I said and then offered feedback! We talked for hours. This is what I needed. I really needed to talk to someone and she was the perfect person to connect with.

We talked about everything related to bodybuilding including roids/HGH. Even though she admits to taking drugs she was dead set against me doing it and I set her mind at ease when I told her that I’m a naturalist and taking anything pharmaceutical was not an option for me……….EVER!

Since she’s in management she explained to me the business aspect of bodybuilding. We went to her hotel and she showed me the difference between a shady contract and a quality contract from photographers, fitness magazines, promoters and supplement companies. These were contracts offered to her during her bodybuilding phase. She made a copy of every contract given to her.

We talked about my goals in this industry and mapped out my entire bodybuilding career. She also agreed with Mr Thrasher about my limitations with female BBing in the NPC league. She said that as long as I stay on the local and natural level I’ll be OK but once I start moving up higher in the non-tested shows I won’t have a chance in hell beating women who juice. No way whatsoever. So we created a plan of action for the NPC and Natural Bodybuilding competitions. This plan will take effect immediately after my April 19th competition.

Speaking of competition Sharon wanted to look at my body so she told me to take off my clothes so she can look at me. “You just want to see me naked so you can have sex with me. I know how you butches work!” I said jokingly.

She laughed and said “If I wanted you I would have had you already so don’t worry yourself. I consider you like my little sister”

So while standing there in my bra and panties she takes a black marker and draws circles on my body.

She draws a circle on my left shoulder “Not symmetrical with your right shoulder” She then draws a circle on my lower abs “This area needs to be tighten too much loose skin here” She goes to my back, then my legs and finally draws the last circle on my calves. Every place that had a circle I had to write on a sheet of paper what needs to be improved in that area. I could barely write because my arms were still sore. We talked about those areas and what I need to do to improve them.

OH! You know what else she did that hooked me? She didn’t bat an eye or gave me a crazy ass look when I told her that I was a vegetarian. When I asked her about that she said that she knows lots of vegetarian bodybuilders and they all are ripped. She said that if you have good genetics you can eat bugs & berries and still build quality muscles. LOL!!!!!

To make a long story short I’ve been spending as much time as I could with Sharon. She’s a wealth of information and it feels good to have someone I can talk to who understands what I’m going through. She’s only in town until Thursday and then she’s heading back to New Jersey. I’ve been with her all day yesterday and all day today. She’s like a big sister I never had. Even though she’s butch to the bone she’s an awesome friend and I’m glad I met her.

You know? People come in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Due to location and lifestyle choices Sharon will only be in my life for a season. At first I was disappointed about that but now I realize that I need to learn as much as I can from her while she’s still around. Who knows when an opportunity like this will be around again?

OK, I’m extremely tired so I’m going to bed early today.  Sorry for the long post but I had to share all of this even though it’s only the tip of the ice berg.

The Lesbian Crew

Now that my gym has been brought by new owners they are throwing membership specials out to the public left and right. Personally, I’m not pleased with the new owners and when I compete I won’t list the name of my gym on my bio. When folks ask me where I workout at I’ll tell them my house! LOL!!!

Anywho, thanks to those specials our gym has been getting a lot of unique folks coming through. This morning I was working out my back and I felt a HUGE presence behind me. I ignored it because I thought it was one of my rough neck male friends watching me work out. Suddenly I heard a deep female voice say "That’s some nice weights you pushin’ girl!"

I turned around and saw three huge ass women standing behind me. One stood 5′11 with big muscles (yes steroids) while the other two were shorter but they were built like powerlifters rather than body builders. Nevertheless they were all very intimidating. I don’t scare easily and I’m known to speak my mind but when it comes to butches? I get the hell out of their way and shut up! Nah uh! I don’t challenge a butch! Especially strong ass butches!  I was so shocked to see them behind me like that. After realizing that they were friendly and not there to cause trouble I smiled and said "Damn! Who ass ya’ll here to kick?"

They all laughed. (thank goodness) We all talked for a while getting to know each other. They were pretty cool with a great sense of humor! They had me rolling in laughter within five minutes. After talking for a few minutes we went our separate ways to workout. All three of them went to the bench press while I did some cardio. You should have seen how the guys reacted to them. They gave those lesbians much respect and lots of SPACE!  The entire gym looked at them in amazement. The entire scene was soooooooooo funny! They were pushing some heavy ass weights putting the men in there to shame. I would never want to piss any of them off! That would be a death wish. LOL!!!! But those chicks were really cool and they had heard from their friends that I was preparing for a competition. They told me that if I needed anything to just let them know. Talk about backup!
I’m still laughing from the expressions on the guys face when those lesbians were bench pressing. I would love to get them on video one day!

February 12, 2008 - STATS

So my weight is coming down and the body fat is going away along with my ass. :(

I still have more body fat to lose so I’m going to keep my cardio schedule the same for now. I still have LOTS of work to do on my legs and dammit it’s pissing me off! Anywho, let’s critique my progress pics.

You can faintly see a little more muscle definition in my quads but I still have more fat to lose in that area. Waaaaaaaaaaaay more fat to lose. I think I’ll keep my squats heavy and rep out the rest of my leg exercises.

Arms are coming along but as you can see I still have more body fat too lose from my lower body and I need to tighten up some minor loose skin that I got from that stupid ass bulk! Yes, I’m still mad about bulking last fall! NEVER EVER AGAIN!

I get mad when I look at my nonflex pic. You know why? Because it almost look exactly the same as my nonflex pic from August of last year. Granted I have more muscles now than last year but this is another reason why bulking is a waste of f*cking time.

Conclusion. The weight is coming off but I still have more body fat to lose and more work on my legs. Right now I’m 171 pounds. I have 8 - 9 more weeks to go. What do you all think about my progress so far? Feel free to critique and offer your opinion about my body. Your opinion will help me decided what to do next.

I finally bit the bullet

After being a part of BB.com I have failed to upload a photo gallery. Why? Too many reasons to tell at the moment but the good news is that I finally started one. Right now I have five pics up there but I’ll upload more as time goes on.

I’m going grocery shopping today (I’ll be leaving in ten minutes). I like buying food on Mondays because the grocery shops are practically empty!

No progress pictures today because I didn’t have much time so I either do it tomorrow or Wednesday but I’ll definitely have them up by Wednesday.

By the way, check out the latest porn clip I got from the IFBB forum! Ok well it’s not really porn for you all but it’s porn for me! Meeeeeeoooooooowwwwwww!

Stormi - "maybe they should not let us carb deprived, mildly stressed out people do math stuff!"

She ain’t lying. I went to Stormi’s blog and read how she miscounted her weeks out. Then it dawn on me. Hmmm? Maybe I need to recount my weeks out too. I did and guess what? I miscounted too! I’m not 8 weeks out……..I’M 9 WEEKS OUT!!!!! So now I have an extra week to prepare for my first competition but you know what? I’m not gonna count that extra week. Nope! I’m going to pretend that I’m still 8 weeks out, that way if I am ahead of schedule I can take it easy closer to the comp rather then burning the midnight oil. However, I won’t pull my water, sugar and salt early. I’ll strategically plan that from my actual comp date but I’ll keep focusing on losing the fat from my lower body as if I’m only 8 weeks out.

Geez! I was always bad at math but this is ridiculous!

Tick tock! Tick Tock! Time is getting shorter and shorter for my competitions. The good things is that I don’t feel like I’m up against the clock anymore. My body fat is slowly but surely melting away and I am getting smaller right before my eyes. I’ll upload progress pictures between Monday - Wednesday. I’m also going to upload a picture gallery on my profile too. I’ve been extremely lazy about uploading a picture gallery in the past. Since my comp is drawing nearer it’s time to display my hard work so I need to start doing displaying more pics.

You guys have been crackin me up with your responses to my blog. I totally forgot that I left the part of me ordering 2 cases of isopure in my video blog. HA! Nothing slips by ya’ll huh? LOL!!!!! Yeah, at my gym we have a “hook up” guy. All ghettos and ghetto gyms have a “hook up” guy. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about allow me to explain. A “hook up” guy is someone who can get quality stuff at dirt cheap prices. You don’t ask any questions like “where does he get this stuff from? or How is he able to sell it so cheaply?”  No, you never ask a “hook up” guy those questions. Just tell him what you want and he’ll get it for you. There are some things he can’t get and when that’s the case I simply order it from bodybuilding.com  For a woman like me who’s on an extremely tight budget the “hook up” man is a life saver. That man has saved me hundreds of dollars on protein powder alone! I buy a very well known protein powder from him for only $10 (2 lbs). YES! TEN BUCKS! So it’s good to have those types of guys around when your counting your pennies. Speaking of counting my pennies I ordered my two piece posing suit several days ago from BB.com ($50 which includes shipping and handling). That’s an awesome price for a posing suit.

I have an idea. This is what I’m going to do. On my next video blog I’m going to start giving my verbal update wearing my two piece posing suit so you all can see my body change from video to video until the day of the competition. This is another great way to monitor my progress. I think I’ll tape my shoulder workout for my next video blog too. I haven’t done a shoulder workout on video yet and I think it’s way past due.

My mood is back to normal and I’m much happier now. I think I’ll stay inactive as possible off the forum though.  During my hormonal days last week I asked IFBB Pro Quincy Taylor a question. He skipped over my question and answered someone else’s instead. I was two seconds away from cussing him out. Thank goodness for the delete button because I did cuss him out but deleted the post immediately because I didn’t want to get BANNED! LOL! He eventually answered my question (the next damn day!) but I realized that acting like a b*tch wasn’t going to get me anywhere so I just let it go. I laugh at it now because I’m in my right state of mind again but I wasn’t laughing then. I tell ya! PMS ain’t no joke!
I’m going to take this time to visit you guys blogs now. After my little rant last week I feel closer to you all. Almost like family. I’m in such a good mood today that if I could give you  all a hug I would. Since I can’t give you a physical hug here’s a cyber one
