Fighting lo-carb lethargy...?
Does anyone else have this problem when they are on a carb-restricted diet?
I guess I realize I'm coming up on what could be a cheat day now, after a week of eating mostly steak, chicken, tuna w vegetable (spinach, mushroom, zucchini, avocado, tomato); plain yogurt and nuts, the occasional (wheat-free, live sprouted) Ezekiel bread with organic sunflower seed butter; coffee with milk, and water with lemon.
So thats, no cookies, no cannoli, no cereal, no chocolate, no fruit, no bread, no rice... not easy I guess when I think of it, but it has become pretty natural and normal to me... except feeling like i lack energy at the end of the day, midday hitting a wall and just.. ugh.
I did stock up on high protein and high fibre cereals I can MEASURE OUT and have AFTER my early AM jog w the dog so I dont just feel like I need to go back to bed. the rest of the day I will continue as i have been, and take time to plan out my meals as best I can so the total does not exceed 1800. One calculator said I need 1655, another said 1755, so i can use that as a rough guideline to start. I have lost a good 9 lbs since joining the gym in mid July, so that is nothing to sneeze at, and an Awesome Start Indeed!!! :D
I am HAPPY TO REPORT... that despite my BMI still registering at 25, or "slightly overweight," which freaking kills me (5'6", 155 lbs) - I think BMI is stupid and I have heard a lot of people say that it is not an accurate gauge of fitness for muscular bodytypes.... - I went to the gym and she measured me, and had me step on this fancy analytical scale... We will check it again tomorrow, since it was midday, I had eaten etc but nevertheless... according to this scale, my REAL AGE IS 15!!!! lmao Wow! I could hardly believe how fit she said I really am! She said the numbers were AWESOME!!! thank you, thank you...
it was based on body water, body fat, bone density, basal metabolic rate, lean muscle mass etc., and considering all those factors, and no less than 116 lbs! of lean muscle mass, I really am quite healthy, fit and strong! So forget BMI! throw it in the bin! there are so many other more relevant standards upon which to measure fitness, and I'm not going to let one stupid calculation get me down on how well I have been living and taking care of myself.
Be well. You are the picture of health!!!
