THE SUMO DEADLIFT….FLIPPIN WOW!!!

Hello Folks!

So I am doing my heavy leg day routine on Monday…Smith Bar Squats and Lunges, Plie Squats, Hack Squats…And Joe Random Trainer Ex-Pro Football player dude comes over to me and says "Hey why don’t you do Sumo Deadlifts?"  I am like I do plie squats with a single dumbbell today and straight leg deadlifts on back day…He was like let me show you something.

 Holly Sh*t!  I didn’t know that could work that far up on my inner thigh…after 4 sets of 15 at 75lbs, I really felt it the next day and there was a very noticible tautness in my inner thigh area and it hit my glutes in a new and exciting way.  This move is kinda like a traditional deadlift accept your feet are well past shoulders with toes pointed out. The bar is almost right up against your shins.  You drive through your heels, back is flat.   If somebody has a demo on this it is so worth it.

I am going to incorporate this move for the next 6 weeks and see what happens.  And as for ex-football player dude he did get my number wants to hang out…and he insisted on doing an assessment on me tomorrow…We shall see.  Also he is going to show me how to properly execute good mornings to hit the hamstrings alittle tougher.  He also is a competitive bodybuilder.

I am so pumped!  Let you know how it goes.

Dayuuummm…Look at that chicks arms.

 GENERAL  BITCHIN’

 Ok…. I understand that to some guys amazement at the a woman can actually have larger and better defined arms then them but do the comments have to be so expressive and at times inappropriate?  Even in the leg department I have got some comments about my legs.   I work out and I work out hard (and effectively), but does that make me a sideshow freak?  I don’t do my hair, put on a fresh coat of make-up, sit on the equipment with my cellphone, and socialize with everyone in the gym…while taking 5 minutes in between each set…Those are the folks that need attention.

All women in my family have the same general shape BIG ARMS, BIG BUTTS, AND THICK THIGHS.  Therefore, I have the raw material for some pretty sizable guns, if they aren’t developed than they are jellantious bags of jiggle! (Same goes for the butt and thigh action).  To be honest most of the women in my family have "the butt and the gut" combo goin’ on.  I am fighting my genes big time.  

I go to a major chain where there are a lot of people in there with BAD FORM and not a clue as do to what the hell they are doing.  Am I the only one frustrated by this foolishness and some of them have the nerve to comment on others? 

Now with all of that being said when one of the competitive body builders in the gym ask me if I compete. I do get a kick out of that.  :-)     I am not disciplined enough in the diet department for that yet. It is a goal.

Finally Updated progress pix

So I finally updated my pictures.  My back and shoulders are really coming along nicely the time I spent with the Pro-Body builder is really showing.  I have come to the conclusion that diets really suck and that alcohol really is a fitness sabatour!  If I could get my Piehole in line with my work out regimine I would be a beast!  I am still going heavy, and working on more cardio, the diet thing is still a challenge…I may try atkins for a week or two.

Finally Updated profile pix

Day - Whatever…

March 15, 2009

It’s been a minute since my last post.  I have been working out with Mr. Italy 2004 and two women (one of whom is a figure competitor)…The program have been grueling for the past 2 weeks.  I can not keep up this pace.  HEAVY WEIGHT LOTSA REPS AND 6 DAYS LIFTING every morning at 7AM.  Example chest day one of the things we do is bench 110lbs 4 sets of 15….WTF!?!?!  I am up 3 lbs and I have strained both my calves and redislocated my left shoulder.  However I have realized I am a lot stronger than most people, and a lot stronger then I thought I was!

On a positive note my lats, back, shoulders and calves are AWESOME!  My diet is still a major point of contention… I will weigh in and post picks this week.

I do not think I will be competing anytime soon but I will be working out heavier, but not as Heavy as Mr. Italy and Pros.  I do not like lifting so hard and heavy to the point of being light headed, or still huring from workouts 3 and 4 days later, I am too old for that, and I have stuff to do!

Day 4 - Cardio

Today I did 30 minutes total cardio…20 minutes on the bike 11 miles hills level 7, and 10 minutes on the stair mill setting 7 aerobic. 

I spoke to one of the trainers in my gym who was a competitor for Mr. Italy and he trains two women who are pro.  He invited me to do legs tomorrow with them…I said sure…Now what in the hell have I gotten myself into.  We shall see.

Day 3 - Tris, Bis, Back, and Chest

February 25, 2009

Breakfast wasn’t to bad 1 egg 1 egg white tsp cheese with fresh basil and 1 slice of toast.  Lunch - Labrada Vanilla Ice Shake with Soy milk…I think dinner will be grilled chicken breast with salsa and spinach. 

I did my whole routine in less than an hour: I got to the gym late today and there were WAY to many people.  I did it and I didn’t fall out.  Life is good.

10 minutes on the bike 3 miles hill setting, pull down 3 sets x 10 75lbs…etc I’m tired need to eat I will add details tomorrow.

Day 2 - Let’s try healthy eating.

So I found an article about a diet plan…and I am going to attempt to be true to it.  I got up this morning had 1 egg and 2 egg whites with spinach and a tbs of cheese, and a 1/2 cup of oatmeal with cinnamon and a tsp of Agave nectar. at 8:00 AM To my surprise not only did it fill me up but I couldn’t finish it and it was about 400 calories!  I didn’t get hungry until at 12:00!  So the whole protein carb combo breakfast really does work.  Typically I’m an omelette and water kinda person, but that really doesn’t fill me up it just stops the hunger pains.

I hit the gym made it a cardio day 20 minutes stationary bike at level 8 hills - 6.58 miles, 20 minutes stairclimber aerobic setting level 8 - 1.68 miles and last walk/sprint 20 minutes treadmill lowest 3.7 sprint 6.2 - 1.25 miles.  I also did abs 2 machines until failure. 

Got a compliment from 2 of the trainers feeling kinda good about that. 

Dinner tonight will be homemade minestone (recipe courtesy of Clean Eating by Tosca Reno), I made this soup on Friday and froze some it is awesome! 

Let’s see what tomorrow holds, trying to stay motivated.

Went to the gym tonight and got my max stats if I am going to do this I am going to everything:

Bench Press 3 sets pyramid upward; final set 125 x10

Squat 3 sets pyramid upward; final set 145 x 12

Deadlift 3 sets pyramid upward; final set 115 x 10

Bicep Curl 3 sets pyramid upward; final set 60 x 3

Overhead Press 3 sets pyramid upward; final set 55 x 6

 

Day 1 - of Blog

Now, I look at this blog as a way to keep me accountable for my actions on my way to dropping 20lbs…I am going to hit the gym to get my max 1 rep stats to update this thing a do an hour of cardio.  Let’s see if I can be disciplined and update this thing daily.
