In october of 2009 i have gotton my family to agree that everyone is going on a diet and starting to eat better. i really sujested it for my mother and farther, they are getting older now and it is even more important for them to get with the program. my dad lifts about 3 days a week but his diet is really bad, he loves soda, my mom on the other had doesn’t do any exercise ( she is my really big challenge). when i started talking about the oct challenge even my sister in-law and brother wanted in, so i am very happy and looking foward to trying to make my family healthier. i already started with my girlfriend about 2 months ago and she is starting to see some of the benifits of workingout, i even saw her flexing in the mirror( i couldn’t stop laughing) wish me luck

my gym has been doing improvements ( if u can call it that) since january. they have painted and put up fancy lights and alot of crap that isn’t needed. The probelm is it is now Aug 20 and they are still doing these improvements that arent’ even needed. some days they will close the basement to do these things ( that is where all the free wieghts and dumbells are) and it messes up peoples scheduals, ontop of that i have to work around people painting on latters and hear loud asa saws when all i want to do is focus on lifting and be left alone. i don’t care if there are holes in the wall, no fancy carpets or even a/c, if u want to do something to make the gym better fix the machines, get more wieghts , more benches. i feel that after my contract is up that my gym is getting to fancy for me and i might have to go find a new one. u can keep the tv in the treadmill

coment if u feel the same way.

to make a long story short, i was talking to my dad ( who still lifts) about how my shoulder is coming along and he told me it sounds like u a going to easy on your shoulder it should be fine by now, so while i was at the gym that afternoon ( chest day) i went heavier on dumbells, and i had shoulder pain, alot of it. that was sunday, my shoulder feels fine now but i was very scared at first, i would hate to re- injury it and have to sit on the sidelines again. yesterday i didn’t lift because my gym is under construction ( that’s another story for a another time) but i am back today with my back routine. hopefully everything goes well, but i learned listen to your body and not to other people

since coming back from my shoulder injury i have been using light weights just to get back into the swing of things, but i have to say the flow of blood i am getting to my muscles feels great. i have been doing light weight and really concentrating on form, today i did bi s/tri s and i feel like i have bricks on my arms they are so heavy right now. i am starting to get mentally comfortable with working out with my shoulder and am seeing progress which is always motavating. take care

I AM BACK AT THE GYM ON A REGULAR BASIS AND I AM LOVING IT, MY SHOULDER HAS ITS GOOD DAYS AND BAD DAYS BUT I THINK I JUST HAVE TO GET OVER THE HUMP MENTALLY SO I CAN REALLY PUT THE INJURY IN THE PAST. I HAVE BEEN EATING GOOD FOR THE MOST PART AND REALLY JUST ENJOYING LIFTING AGIAN. THE INJURY IS ALITTLE FUSTRATING BECAUSE MY LEFT SHOULDER DOESN’T HAVE AS MUCH FLEXABLITIY AS MY RIGHT, MAKING SHOULDER PRESSES REALLY STRANGE FEELING, SO I HAVE BEEN PUTTING SHOULDERS ON THE SIDE BURNER FOR NOW AND IT IS SAD BECASUE I USE TO LOVE DOING SHOULDER PRESSES. BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS DOING GOOD, SLOW AND STEADY I TRY TO TELL MYSELF NO REASON TO RUSH ANYTHING AND HURT MY SHOULDER AGIAN.

ON A GREAT NOTE, I HAVE GOTTEN MY SOON TO BE BRIDE TO JOIN THE GYM WITH ME, I AM VERY EXCITED BECAUSE I LOVE WORKING OUT AND HOPEFULLY I CAN SHOW HER HOW TO LOVE IT TO ( IT MAY TAKE A WHILE BECAUSE SHE REALLY ISN’T IN TO IT). SHE IS DOING IT FOR OUR WEDDING IN ABOUT A YEAR SO SHE CAN LOOK GREAT IN HER DRESS, I AM HOPING THAT SHE BECOMES FOND OF WORKING OUT AND CONTINUES TO WORK OUT PAST THE YEAR AND THAT IT CAN BE SOMETHING WE CAN ENJOY TOGETHER. I AM HELPING HER GET HER FEET WET, MOSTLEY CARDIO AND LIGHT WEIGHTS JUST TO TONE UP, SO IF ANYONE HAS ANY HELPFULL HINTS THAT I CAN USE TO MOTIVATE HER AND MAKE THE GYM FUN I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THEM. ENJOY THE SUMMER WEATHER BEFORE U KNOW IT WE WILL BE OFF THE TRACK AND BACK ON THE TREDMILL

My last doctors visit for my shoulder was on monday, he says everything is doing great and what activities would i like to go back to doing, that is just what i needed to hear. the doc just told me to start slow and get my strength back , he also told me to aviod doing shoulder presses and incline bench which i am alittle dissipionted about but i am going to workout and listen to my body and as long as i feel comfortable it will be a go. i haven’t lifted a weight since Aug 2008 because of my shoulder and now i am finally back, starting slow but slow is better then nothing.
