Functional training for Tough Mudder
I always have a plan. Even though I'm working on a sprint tri in the summer, I want to do a Tough Mudder before the end of the year or at the beginning. So I've been noticing my function is POOR. Especially when it comes to bodyweight exercises. I'm pretty sure I'm going to incorporate crossfit type workouts into my regimen. I wish it didn't cost so much and that my schedule worked out because I would join a local chapter.
I found this inspiring.
Tbh, accomplishing goals is easier when 1. you don't care what other people think and 2. you do what YOU want to do. If you make ripples in the water, GOOD. If you ruffle someone's feathers because it is going against the grain, GOOD. For a lot of women it is intimidating but it is always nice to see some step into the area for any reason. Some women that don't think what they do matters at the gym or think people don't notice, they do, and others are watching because seeing them lead by example for female health and fitness inspires and encourages other women to also.
I love that video. I think goals are 100% personal. The people that are judgmental about whatever your personal goals are...don't have any goals.
I have been looking at attempting to incorporate crossfit into my regime. Loosing fat without affecting my muscle ratio is key.
Crossfit is great, but it is, indeed, expensive. I've been training for the Mudder for two months now, and incorporated a lot more body weight exercises. If you can't afford crossfit, throw super sets of pull/chin-ups into your daily routine. Farmer's walks will help you with the grip!
