Exhausted…

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Worked kind of sucked for me yesterday. I was busy as shit. I had a lot of things that did not get done. I ended up training Brian at noon (on my lunch break)… And wednesday is Bobby’s off day… So… I had the whole afternoon to train back and biceps.

One more thing…

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

I forgot to mention that my weight was up about 2 pounds to 217… However… this is probably from all of the junk I ate last week. I have never been too hung up on what the scale reads… I am trying to go by the mirror instead. Anyway - I am working extra hard this week… So I am sure it will be back around 215 soon. Trying to impress =)

7:00 am and my week is already getting crazy…

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Ok…. I am swamped at work already. I have so much stuff to get done this week… it is insane. And plenty of personal training sessions as well. I don’t mind it too much though. It will make this week fly… I have more vacation coming at the end of this month (for the holidays). I just have to make it until then… Let the madness begin…

Death coming soon….

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

Giant set is only one hour away…. Work is sucking right now. I have been so damn busy. I can’t wait to get out of here for an hour or so. I am hitting up legs with Bobby. I am sure he is there right now. He is always super early. Anyway, we are trying to patch everything up at work (before the holidays).

Almost time….

Friday, November 17th, 2006

I am barely awake…. but can’t wait to get out of here for the weekend. The office is pretty dead and dark right now. And I am looking forward to a killer chest and calves workout. I trained Brian on my lunch break - so meal 3 came a little later than usual. I am curious to see how many reps I can crank out with the 150lbs dumbells. Well… until monday….

Made up for last week….

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

Yesterday’s leg workout was awesome. Especially compared to last week. Bobby and I destroyed our legs. Plus… I went up on weight or reps on just about everything. Here’s what it looked like:

Deep Barbell squats:

135×25, 275×16, 315×13(New PR!), 405×5(New PR!), 455×1(dropped to 315×6, then 225×6).

Front Barbell Squats:

135×16, 185×9, 225×5(dropped to 135×8)

45 Degree Leg Press (I was able to go super deep on these. My knees were next to my ears!):

630×12, 720×8, 810×5 (dropped to 630×6, 520×5) - Bobby was crying on these!

Forward Barbell Lunges:

135×20, 135×20

Leg Extensions:

150×15, 150×15, 150×15(dropped to 90×6 Super slow!!!)

In other news… My brother, Yumi and the baby stopped over last night to see the house. They didn’t get there until 9:00 - which is usually when I am getting ready for bed. I did not get to bed until 11:00 - which is an hour late for me. (Hey - 4:30am is early!). Plus, I did not sleep well. I have had a lot on my mind. I am completely stressed out. And my elbow was killing me. I kept waking up from the pain. So when the alarm went off this morning - I barely crawled out of bed and into the shower. I am going to be dragging today.

I am going to train back and biceps today - maybe on my lunch break. I won’t have any help deadlifting this week… So hopefully I can get focused and get it done. My truck should be fixed and ready to go. It’s going to suck when I have to turn in this Yukon. Man - what a nice ride. I’m not sure how I will get my truck. I am sure I can find a ride there. Well, back to work. See you at the gym…

The kindness of others…

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Yesterday ended up being a great day. As you know… I was without a vehicle to drive. I had planned on getting a ride to the gym with my training partner (since we work in the same building). However, he had a meeting that he had to go to. I asked another friend from work (if he wanted to workout with me at 2:00)… but he could not make it. So, I decided to walk. It is probably a couple of miles from my work to the gym. However, I was not very prepared for this adventure. I did not where a coat yesterday - I had on a business casual clothes. This consisted of a polo shirt, cargo khakis, and dress shoes. As soon as I got moving… it started to snow / rain pretty hard. I was soaked. My shoes and socks were wet. And my neck was cramping from carrying my huge duffle bag, cooler, and brief case. Just as I was approaching 4 mile… a guy in a mini-van stopped and offered me a ride. He then drove me to the gym. So, whoever you are - thank you again!

On top of that, one of my clients (Brian) lended a helping hand. He owns a car dealership. When he heard me say that I was without a car - he said ‘Man - why didn’t you tell me! I’ll have a car dropped off for you!’. And before I knew it, there was a brand new GMC Yukon sitting outside the gym. What a nice ride. I would love to have one. That truck would pull my little boat without feeling a thing. So Brian - Thank again!

After leaving the gym last night, I stopped at Sam’s club to grab a few things. I ran into some old friends from high school (Gary and Michelle). They started dating in like tenth grade. And they are now married and expecting their first child. It was great to see them. And they looked great too. It just made me think how awesome and rare that is - to start dating in high school and end up together.

Ok - enough rambling - I should probably talk about working out. Yesterday’s workout was pretty good - considering it was shortened a bit (from my long walk to the gym). Ryan trained shoulders and triceps with me. We hit up rope pulldowns, close-grip bench, overhead extensions (2 hand), skullcrushers, seated shoulder press, standing barbell press, dumbell shrugs, lateral raises, rear delt raises, lateral raises using the cables, and finally - dips. My triceps feel pretty sore right now. Today is legs. I am going to be a squat machine!

One other thing I must address…. This in regards to the comment left friday night (as I am guessing you will read this)… I honestly don’t know what to say. That caught me by surprise - as I could not prepare myself for what I read. There are a lot things I would like to say… to respond to… but I don’t think this is the best place to do it.

$1300 Are you kidding me???

Monday, November 13th, 2006

I just got a call back about my truck. It is going to cost me $1300 to fix. And that price is for a used transmission. How the hell am I going to come up with that? Also, it won’t be fixed until wednesday. Ugh… It makes me sick. Stupid vehicle. At least it is paid for.

So hungry. One more hour until my next meal. Chicken, steak, and green beans. My weight has been hanging around 215 - 216. But I think I look a bit bigger. I am going by the mirror more than the scale.

Friday… Finally….

Friday, November 10th, 2006

Thank god the weekend is finally here. This has been a rough week for me. And I am glad that it is over. Yesterday’s back and bicep workout was pretty intense. My arms are a little sore (already). Every set was intense - especially deadlifts. I worked my way up to 405 again. It is always brutal when I save that exercise for the end of my workout. I had a little help though.

Today was chest and it went well. I had to sneak in a quick lunch workout. However, at the very end of my workout… I was able to hit a one rep max of 315 on incline bench! I was pleased. But damn - was it heavy… And that was after all of decline presses and flys…

I am so ready for this weekend. I am not going to think about work at all. I still have to train Bob tonight. so, I will be back at the gym this evening…

2:00 pm is on!

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

It looks like I do have a ride to the gym today! So, back and biceps at 2:00 pm!!! It is on!! Man does it suck not having a vehicle to drive. What a pain. I am training until about 7:00 pm tonight. Then I have to somehow stop and get my weekly groceries (you know… chicken, steak, eggs). Have to be home in time for the office!!!!

I will have a spotter as well. So it should be a great workout. See ya at the gym!!!
