Yesterday ended up being a great day. As you know… I was without a vehicle to drive. I had planned on getting a ride to the gym with my training partner (since we work in the same building). However, he had a meeting that he had to go to. I asked another friend from work (if he wanted to workout with me at 2:00)… but he could not make it. So, I decided to walk. It is probably a couple of miles from my work to the gym. However, I was not very prepared for this adventure. I did not where a coat yesterday - I had on a business casual clothes. This consisted of a polo shirt, cargo khakis, and dress shoes. As soon as I got moving… it started to snow / rain pretty hard. I was soaked. My shoes and socks were wet. And my neck was cramping from carrying my huge duffle bag, cooler, and brief case. Just as I was approaching 4 mile… a guy in a mini-van stopped and offered me a ride. He then drove me to the gym. So, whoever you are - thank you again!
On top of that, one of my clients (Brian) lended a helping hand. He owns a car dealership. When he heard me say that I was without a car - he said ‘Man - why didn’t you tell me! I’ll have a car dropped off for you!’. And before I knew it, there was a brand new GMC Yukon sitting outside the gym. What a nice ride. I would love to have one. That truck would pull my little boat without feeling a thing. So Brian - Thank again!
After leaving the gym last night, I stopped at Sam’s club to grab a few things. I ran into some old friends from high school (Gary and Michelle). They started dating in like tenth grade. And they are now married and expecting their first child. It was great to see them. And they looked great too. It just made me think how awesome and rare that is - to start dating in high school and end up together.
Ok - enough rambling - I should probably talk about working out. Yesterday’s workout was pretty good - considering it was shortened a bit (from my long walk to the gym). Ryan trained shoulders and triceps with me. We hit up rope pulldowns, close-grip bench, overhead extensions (2 hand), skullcrushers, seated shoulder press, standing barbell press, dumbell shrugs, lateral raises, rear delt raises, lateral raises using the cables, and finally - dips. My triceps feel pretty sore right now. Today is legs. I am going to be a squat machine!
One other thing I must address…. This in regards to the comment left friday night (as I am guessing you will read this)… I honestly don’t know what to say. That caught me by surprise - as I could not prepare myself for what I read. There are a lot things I would like to say… to respond to… but I don’t think this is the best place to do it.
