when will I workout?

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

I hate not knowing what time I will be able to hit the gym. It drives me crazy. Today is going to be nuts. I have no idea when I will squeeze my back and biceps workout in. Tuesday’s leg day was rushed - but still a decent workout. I mean - I am feeling pretty sore. My body is telling me it is time to eat. I am getting ready to head downstairs and warm up my chicken and green beans. My weight has been staying around 206. I realize I have gained some fat… but my shoulders are starting to look better. If I could only reduce this pain in my elbows…..

rough weekend

Monday, September 25th, 2006

Well… I am coming back from a long weekend of no sleep. I only had about 3 hours of sleep from saturday to sunday (as I was visiting friends in Indianapolis). Regardless, I am ready for triceps and shoulders. My elbows have really been bothering me - so I iced them this morning. I will spend plenty of time warming them up before moving any heavy weight. My diet was back on track today - lots of protein. I have already hit about 150 grams by 2:00pm.

I have finished my NO-Xplode and I am ready to go. Be back tomorrow for a heavy leg day!

oh yeah

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

Yesterday was triceps and shoulders. We changed the order of all the exercises - and started with shoulders first. My shoulders were on fire after our first exercise. We started with seated dumbell shoulder presses (superset) with standing barbell presses. We then did drop sets of side lateral raises (with dumbells) superset with bent over rear delt raises. After that - we moved onto triceps. My right elbow was in extreme pain (tendonitis) and I cut a few exercises short. Overall - it was a good workout. More focus was on shoulders than triceps though.

Today is legs. However - today is different. We are doing a giant set workout that is pure death. I will puke for sure. We start with 20 reps on the 45 degree leg press. Then immediately do 25 reps of leg extensions. Then 15 sissy squats. And finish with 20 reps of forward lunges. All with no rest inbetween.

 I can’t wait!

Back in the groove…

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

Hey everyone. First let me talk about training… Yesterday was triceps and shoulders. Today is legs. My leg workout last week kind of sucked. So I am hoping to get more accomplished today. My shoulders are developing nicely. However, my tricep tendonitis has moved from my left arm to the right.

Anyway… now I want to discuss diet. I have gained a little more fat than necessary. I know this is a result of my increased carbohydrate intake. I am eating more carbs than my body can use. Therefore, when I cook my meals for the week… I will be changing my carb cycling program. I intend to run 3 low carb days in a row. I will then carb up every fourth day. I will keep you all posted to let you know how it works out.

Brief, but Intense

Wednesday, September 6th, 2006

Busy, Busy, Busy…. That’s what has been going on lately. Monday was labor day - so I snuck my workout in before they closed at noon. Yesterday was legs. My right knee felt great. It was a brief workout. But I was happy with my squats. 405 felt pretty good. I was able to move the weight smoothly and made it just below parallel for 4 good reps. I accomplished this twice.

Today is a much needed off day. I will be hitting some abs on my lunch break. But this afternoon I am resting. I have been trying to catch up on my sleep whenever possible. It is making a big difference.

Tomorrow is back and biceps. I have not deadlifted in two weeks - so I am excited to lift some heavy weight. Peace.
