Ok, so I made it home safe after a year in Iraq. I spent a week getting reintegrated back into society in germany, then spent another week just chilling before I went home. Now mind you, I’ve been away from home for 8 months, and I’m going back for three weeks and what do I get? I come home to a place that I can’t necessarily call home(that’s changed thankfully) but when I first got home I felt as if it was a worse place to be then Iraq. Fighting parents, negative energy all over the place, not to mention the fact that some jerk-off rear-ended my mustang the day before I got home and drove off, leaving me to bring it to the body shop and fix. Thank god the insurance company took most of the cost, I don’t think I would have been able to come up with $1,400 to get it fixed(and yes I know I just came back from deployment, but I was helping out the parents and whatnot)…..but for the first two weeks that I was home, I seriously wanted to be anywhere but home and unfortunately I didn’t have any way of leaving, nor the money to pay for my ticket being scooted up sooner. All I can say is that I’m glad that the stuff my parents were upset and fighting about is either under the rug or fixed at least until I leave next monday. But of all the times that I have come home to spend time with my parents or even just completely relax without doing anything, this has been the worst one by far. I can only hope that it isn’t like this when I get out of the army or I’m going to end up losing my mind. Well, at this point, I can take the last week I have here and just live for myself, and as much as my parents may hate it, it’s what I’m going to focus on until I leave. Hope everyone is doing well on their path to fitness, and I myself shall find the path again once I’m able to settle down from my return. Good luck and best wishes to everyone,

Ice

PS, the pick is of me on leave the night I went out and got pretty toasted. What do you think of the hair?

So I’ve been trying to motivate myself to getting back in the gym but for some reason I just haven’t been able to do it. The other thing is I’ve been having trouble coming up with a good workout plan that I can stick to on a regular basis….I didn’t seem to have this problem when I was here last time, then again, I also had a bunch of friends that I could go and workout with.

I can’t seem to be able to get a good diet down either, because of the randomness of the types of meals they serve down here I haven’t been eating as well as I should. Too much difference between the days I have nice, lean, healthy meals and the days that I eat the bad greasy food that just adds fat. I’m afraid to start up supplements because of the fact that my workouts are so sporadic at best, but I know that eventually I will need to start taking protein and vitamins because I’m not getting enough right now as it is.

Well, that’s my venting for today, hopefully it might be a while before I have to vent again.

So…..for the first time in 3 years I am going to be home for my birthday, which most poeple experience anyways, it’s just nice to be around family and friends for my birthday. Anyways, I’m home on leave from Iraq and it feels great, yet at the same time almost surreal, I’m not really sure what I should do and how I should enjoy myself. There are soooo many things that I want to do while I’m home, yet in my opinion sooo little time to do them. Not to mention it’s a little colder then I thought it would be, so hanging around a pool to get some good cardio and a tan isn’t exactly a good idea. Well, just thought I’d share my good fortune, I’m going to go see if I can fall back asleep, even if I did pretty much sleep 11 hours already .

Ok, I know people on here talk about what they do when they go to the gym…..but my times at the gym have been few and far between. But lately I’ve been more lonely then anything else. I know that guys my age are looking for girls that they can take home for one night and then kick out the door the next morning, but I’m looking for the girl that I can live with, be comfortable around and spend the rest of my life with…..the only thing is, you don’t want to be looking for this type of girl when you’re where I am, in Iraq. I mean, lately I can’t even find a girl to casually have sex with on a day to day basis.

Why is this bothering me soo much now, at this point in time when I’m deployed??

Ok, I’ve been in Iraq for the past two - three weeks, and even though the main thing on my menu is trying to get big and gain strength, the gym hasn’t had the appeal that it used to have the last time I was down here. I’ve only been working out half the time I should, and I’ve been sleeping more and more. I know this isn’t a forum, but I have a habit of forgetting to check the forums that I’ve posted on and gather information from. If anybody can give me some advice about what I could do, please help me out.
