clean eating testimonial

Friday, July 25th, 2008

well…i have to post this…it may seem as though I am tooting my own horn, but I promise I am not…I posted new pics yesterday and have had several comments about how good they are etc…I don’t feel as if they are..honestly I think I am squishy and am not happy about the way I look again, but the back injury did have me down for 2 months, and then another month I was down by my own choice, a lazy choice. But…I ate about 80% clean for the 3 months I was down…which really wasn’t all that difficult..its that next 20% that is the rough part..what I am saying is…with no work outs and just clean eating you can maintain a fairly healthy physique…it just goes to show how massively important it is to eat clean..I stayed lean and fairly defined….for all you people struggling to make a 100% clean switch…sometimes it just takes baby steps…go 80% then work on that extra 20% gradually..going cold turkey isn’t recommended for a lot of things, and diet is definitely one of them.. good luck to all who are making the switch to clean eating…it is definitely worth it!! I can’t wait to start training hard again!!

challenge

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

ok..so here we go..little did I know when i titled my blog the journal of pain, how prophetic that would be…the back injury was from hell and took over 2 months to get healed…2 months of rest…now turned into 3 because the 2 months off made me lazy as hell and I got complacent…complaining abut the softening of the body, yet doing nothing about it for a month after the healing process…it is so easy to fall back into laziness..so convenient.

So I have accepted Jules and lovejones challenge and we will see what happens..first goal is to eat clewan the whole time…gonna be tough, eating clean gets expensive and work for me has come to a ginding halt thanks to our lovely economy and lack of construction in our area, and no one wants to pay me to be their chef right now…ARRRGHJH!!

ADHD, yes I know…back to the goals…eat clean the whole time…get back to my 6 miles a day routine 6 days a week and keep it under 50 minutes as I did before. Lift 5x a week…pics will go up tomorrow..I am embarassed about the reversing of the body since I last posted  pics in April, but that is motivation to get back into it…thanks to all who sent encouraging messages after my injury..most greatly appreciated..now its back on..

first run back

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

OK..well I hit the streets this morning for the first time for real again in almost 3 weeks since the back injury..it felt awesome…6 miles in 43 minutes…gonna try lifting tonight for the first time again with an easy back workout and see how it feels….

“back” at it tomorrow

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

so today has turned out to be pretty good….did some yoga for about 1.5 hrs….found a few poses that weren’t so comfortable on the ol spine, so I shied away from those, but the stretch overall felt awesome…so…tomorrow I brave hitting the pavement again for a run..its been a week since I hit the street and the smell of the early morning air just beacons to me..I don’t know how long I will be able to stand the impact of the feet on the street, but I sure hope its a least 3 miles…I miss it..did I just say that..I miss running…who is this guy that has invaded my body and mind lately??

Thanks to everyone for all the PM’s and kind words when I first posted the injury (pain)…its truly made me feel like part of the family here.

Missing a week of running and lifting is amazing to what it does to the body..i lost a lot of pump…GGGGGRRRR…makes me angry, but I will be back at it tomorrow..Everyone take care and have a great Sunday…

frydaddy?

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

so who is Frydaddy?…

just another person trying to better myself in life..

I was always fit as a kid…started wrestling in the first grade and continued until I was a freshman in college…made the "meat squad" there, also discovered beautiful women and drugs and alcohol in excess which quickly stopped even the meat squad…don’t even know if there is actually a record of me being there..LMAO..oh well….also played 4 other sports in high school so I was always active
I battled drug and alcohol abuse as a young adult, through my 20’s and close to 27 yrs old…smoked like a fiend (2 packs a day for almost 12 yrs or so) At he right old age 29 I blew a disc in my neck and had to have it fused so that put me out of commission for close to a year of any activity except for walking and the 5 lb DB my doctor let me use..I have had 10 other surgeries since then (1996) so needless to say my physical conditioning suffered a great deal(drugs and alcohol didn’t help either)….so here I am..clean, no drugs, 2 fusions in the cervical spine, 2 knee surgeries, a couple of surgeries for hernias and other problems in the groin area, 3 surgeries on my left hand to save a finger and now pushing 41..oh yeah..and near death last year from an allergic reaction to an anti-biotic…yeah..I am a walking M.A.S.H. unit….held together by catgut and staples and some titanium in the neck…but…all I have to say is…I have made it through all of it with the help of God and here I am to get in the best shape of my life by Sept 9 of this year.

Thanks for all your support in making this happen…many of you are very inspirational to me and I greatly appreciate your comments and feedback and budding friendship…best of luck to all of you who read this in accomplishing every goal you set forth before you..
