Watching myself…

I really don’t like looking at myself when I lift or train. I like to IMAGINE what I look like.. I find that I close my eyes alot when I lift (or find a far away spot on the wall or ceiling to focus on.. anything to take away from looking at me)…. Well, I’m finding that with the CrossFit that I’ve been doing, one REALLY must keep their eyes open to reduce injury! HA!

And today was no different…. I did 21…15…9… cleans and dips.. Prescribed was 65# for women.. Yeah.. NOT gonna happen for me at this point.. but i did manage 21 at 55# then finished with 45#… Total time was 9:20..   Then i did 100 jumping pull ups.. some back work… and abs (modified windshielf wipers and knee ups).. Jay was there and gave me his 25 year old seal of approval.. Said it was a nice change of pace to see a female rockin’ the cleans…

And what I found out today was this…. I actually liked watching my form on the cleans. I liked to see the muscles coming thru.. I liked to see the progress that I have made.. I liked seeing what needs to be corrected (tight right adductor causing my knee to bend in..)… I like looking at myself with my new eyes =D

Today, I got my first UNASSISTED pull up EVER! And it felt soooooooooo good.. I was SOOOOOO excited that i dropped down and gave him a hug with such enthusiam, we fell to the floor.. OOOPS.. probably should take said enthusiasm and back it down a notch or FOUR! haha.. Now i’m hungry for more =) So me and Jay worked on it.. and worked on it.. and worked on it.. i told him "damn, kid… who’s the one getting the workout with all that liftin’ you’re doing??" haha …

and that was AFTER my workout which was a total core killer.. Not very long, but a killer none the less..I got to wear the 20 pound weighted vest today.. keepin’ it fun, ain’t we??? So the workout was 2 rounds (with weighted vest) of :
20 explosive side lunges (like you’re skiing) each leg.. Then sprint 50 yards (no sprinting took place.. fast hobbling more like it).. back peddle to the beginnning.. 50 full sit ups.. 1 min plank.. On the 2nd round, he subbed sit ups for incline knee ups.. and this time, he held my knees for added resistance.. That boy’s gonna KILL me! And, as with all my trainers, I LOVE them for it! =)

But between my trainer and I, we can’t seem to remember my trainings! UGH! Friday HE forgot so he had me train WITH him (no charge.. kinda nice) and we did some crazy routine consisting of 2 groups.

Group 1 : 15 push ups   15 woodchoppers with 8 pound weighted ball (each side)  15 isolateral cable rows. 3 rounds. No stopping.

 5 minute break

Group 2: 15 one armed torso swing combo thing with an overhead press that killed my everything from the core up.. 15 one legged front squats that killed my everything from my core down.. 20 seated cable narrow grip row on the ground (u guess it.. using core to keep from getting pulled into the rack!) 3 rounds.. No stopping..

We were having a great time (or so i thought) until he brought out the …. DUH DUH DUH….. AB SLINGS! no, these ain’t your normal harbinger slings.. these hang down and to be honest, look like something that could be used as entertainment in the bedroom.. BUT, me being me, i made sure we had all the entertainment we needed right on the gym floor! haha.. at one point, both my legs were in the straps and my hands on the ground and i was doing things that i NEVER thought i’d do (in the gym… BOOOYAH)… but my core was feeling it.. and then i started swinging forwards and backwards, saying in my best Simon voice "LOOK WHAT I CAN DO".. and i thought jay was gonna pee his pants… i told him "WELCOME TO THE FP EXPERIENCE, MY FRIEND!" haha…

Today, I was the one who forgot about my training time. UGH UGH! so he had me do the 12/22 workout, only this time 3 rounds.. YEP, ima feeling it!

The training with the college kids is going really well.. but the 0500 wake up call is killing me.. oh well.. i had to remind myself i used to get up at 0330 to train.. Now THAT was sillly! Anywho, today was "bootcamp" and 3 of the players met UNCLE PUKIE.. i was sooooooooooo proud. i told all my trainer friends at the gym and the hi 5s and chest bumps started and it was all good.. didn’t make any of the afternoon kids puke… hmmmm… Too bad I don’t like challenges ;)

Bitten off more than I can chew…

I believe I’ve finally done just that! I’m now adding 0600 trainings with the college soccer teams M-W-F for pre-season. Fridays will be SUPER-D-DUPER fun cuz i’ll be going there directly AFTER working 2 nights shifts.. Not horrible I suppose.. And at the end of the month, my former trainer and I will be having a seminar with a few corportations regarding nutrition/fitness-a corporate wellness program. I’m really excited about this but I had forgotten I had told her I was on board. SOOOOOOOOOO, if this takes off, I’ll be doing that Monday and Tuesdays. Nice way to pick up more money, which is what i’ve been needing to do, but I also train with my CURRENT trainer on those 2 days at 11 am.. He looked at me like "girl, when you gonna have time for YOU?" i got a warm feeling in my heart and said "you’re just gonna miss me and my goofy ass".. to which he replied "most certainly".. i love him! haha =D

I’m also coaching my son’s basketball team again this season. That’s been so much fun. All 10 boys from last season are back so it’s beyond amazing to see their gains.. To see how much more they can comprehend and grasp.. And i love being the female coach cuz they think it’s pretty cool that my son’s mom played ball..

But in all seriousness, I don’t want to lose me.. I don’t want to lose the fitness and the gains that i have literally worked my ass off for. I’m so close to happy.. I can almost taste it.. and it’s my therapy.. Jay is my therapist.. The gym is my couch.. My friends are my Prozac… and i wanna be in therapy for the rest of my life =D
