First day with the new trainer….
Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008AND he killed me! i know, i have melodramatic tendencies and all, but for real..
SOOOOOOOOOOOO i’ve been house bound for the last 5 days.. haven’t been to the gym (in the name of "recovery" and 14 inches of snow.. but i digress).. and i KNEW it would be tough to come back.. but i was excited and even had a pre-workout workout by shoveling about 14 inches of snow that completely surrounded my car just to get out!!!
so i see new trainer, jay, and celebrate a "you survived the snow" high 5 and started my "warm up" on the treadmill.. suddenly he says, "stay here young lady (he’s 25.. im not young).. we have some fun to have right here.." HUH??!! so yeah.. suddenly he says "warm ups over" and the incline goes to 15% and the speed to 7.5 MPH.. ok.. i can do this.. OR CAN I?? I did for the 2 minutes but i couldn’t feel my legs.. Then it’s time for 15 "man-makers", which is just glorified BURPEE with a pushup on dumbells and a dumbbell row each arm while in plank position.. pretty easy, right? that’s what i thought.. so i finally got those done and had 15 one legged step ups to balance in the 24 inch box.. then 500 meter row under 2:10 (the last 100 under 2:00) then 20 modified knees to chest (with him using his own weight as resistance on my knees.. dirty trick!) .. and repeat..
Once i caught my breath, and the lactic acid out of my body, I asked him "so we did man-makers.. what’s a woman-maker?" he says, "that’s next time… and it’s WAY tougher." DAMN STRAIGHT!!!! =)
