The rant of a Princess

Ok.. please bare with me but I’ve got something to get off my chest.. And I will do my best to keep my rant short but I can get wordy and long winded.. (nawwww, not ME!) .. So here it goes…. Why is it that a man is "lucky" simply because his wife/girlfriend/lover/significant other/play toy is HOTT?? I mean, let’s get real.. This female could be the biggest looney on the planet; the most possessive, controlling, nagging, needy queen of the wildabeasts but because her physical appearance is "HOTT" (not a term i usually use) this man is "lucky?"  Now maybe I’m wrong, and I have been known to be from time to time, but I don’t think this automatically makes this male "lucky."  OK OK OK.. rant time is over…

And with that said, today was my first day back at the gym after taking 2 days off.. I was so very exhausted physically but it wasn’t easy to stay away. So bright and early (4 am.. WTF is that sound?? oh yeah.. the alarm) I got up and made my trek to the gym before work.. Today was my first day of running in several weeks! I’ve been concentrating on the step mill.. and let me tell you, I felt soooooo strong in my run! I went 60 minutes/7.5 miles and felt strong and had some energy left in my legs! I guess the step mill has helped add strength to my legs, as well as build my cardiovascular endurance!! And this has me so excited because I can see progress towards my 1/2 Ironman in July!!

And I go back tonight to meet with my coach for an upper body workout !! :)

And now I’m at work and want to nap. :)

I just officially registered for the LAKE STEVENS 1/2 IRONMAN TRIATHLON JULY 6, 2008!! no backing out now, cuz I’m a real cheep skate (or frugal with my finances, as i like to put it) and I don’t want to lose the $175.00 entry fee!!

So, in honor of that registration, I had a fantastic workout at the gym!! I ran 7 miles (treadmill..hey, we were having a wind/rain storm.. you try running in 45 MPH winds.. yeah, didn’t think so!! ;) ) and 25 mile stationary bike ride.. And yes, I pushed myself with hills and all that.. And what a great ride it was.. I was sandwiched between 2 older men of great excess body weight and body hair (giving my boys a shout out and a "good on ya" for being at the gym btw).. All was going well when suddenly one of them winked at me.. WINKED, I SAY!! so i do a double take and look at the other on my left, and he’s looking at the one on my right giving him a thumbs up!! (I feel I should explain and say that I am NOT a cute little cardio bunny at the gym.. I am sweaty, red faced, sweaty, breathing hard, did i mention sweaty?, cardio gal wearing my signature white NIKE running cap..i do NOT get stares, winks or high 5s.. haha) At this point, I broke out in hysterical laughter, as did they, because they realized that this CERTIFIABLE GYM DORK just caught them in their little game, or whatever it was… But it was all in good fun, and it helped make the ride go faster..

But then my hairy friends decided they couldn’t, or wouldn’t, ride the full hour with me so off they went to leave me to finish the last 5 minutes by myself.. and what horrible timing that was! So not only was I alone after 1.75 hours of cardio, but suddenly i realized i was shaking from hunger! But this I could deal with hands down.. It was OPEN ARMS by JOURNEY coming on the ipod that I COULD NOT!! haha.. i’m such a song snob! and to make it worse, the battery was so low that it froze.. Anyone ever heard "OPEN ARMS" over and over and over and over again?? lol.. I don’t recommend it! But trudge on I must.. and did.. and let me tell you, that last 5 minutes was the longest part of the entire workout! Good to know I can conquer hardships that come my way.. LOL..

I followed my post workout with a 2 scoop shot of ISOPURE to tide me over until I could get my Cashew chicken with steamed veggies from the local Thai restaurant… And let the feeding frenzy begin!! :)

So, the am brings a 4 am wake up call to do upper body followed by light cardio before work.. oh yeah.. a full charging of the IPOD tonight.. and the elimination of OPEN ARMS from my playlist!! haha :)
