Training has been good this week. Wish I had the discipline to write it all down as it happened, because at this point, I’ve already forgotten the details. Damn…I need to get better at that. All I know is my back, delts and chest are sore and I’m loving it!!! The only thing I’ve been slacking on is abs and cardio. Cardio, I’m not too worried about b/c its wintertime and I don’t mind giving my body a little break. The abs though, I need to get moving on. Seems I always have at least one bodypart that becomes "unfavorite" for a while and I neglect. Kinda funny how that works. TGIF and looking forward to the long weekend!

Got my butt to this gym before work this a.m. We got a bunch of snow here, so I pretty much had the gym to myself. At one point I was the only person in the weight room…love it!!! I’ve been doing legs 2x per week…trying to focus on squatting, but have been wondering whether squatting 2x a week is a bit much for me, so for this workout, I skipped the squats and did some RDLs. I LOVE these. I can really feel them and they get my heartrate through the roof. After a few warmup sets I did 3×10x165. Then I did some split squats. This was my first time trying these so I just did 3 sets with 10 lb plates in each hand just to get the form down. I like ‘em, but I was feeling them more in my quads than in my butt (damn). Then a few sets of leg curls, and a cable move for the butt (don’t know the correct name of it). Unfortunately that’s all I had time for as I had to get to work. Hoping I feel some soreness tomorrow!

I had to clean up some crap in my personal life so my training has been "off" for about two weeks. I’ve still been going, but the intensity just hasn’t been there. Don’t you hate when life gets in the way of your workouts?!?!? But…the mess is now cleaned up, I feel like a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I’m focused again. Time to start squatting, lunging and deadlifting like a madwoman. I WILL have junk in my trunk!
