Cycle 2 - Week 6

Hey, y’all,

This has been the most difficult week I can remember as a lifter.  I hit the wall with respect to my cutting cycle and I didn’t understand why, or how to get out of the rut I was in.  So I promised myself I would research nutrition and dieting so I could troubleshoot the root causes of my problem.  What I found out was disturbing:  I was literally starving myself in order to lose weight.

I haven’t been on a decent diet since I started lifting back in ‘05.  I’d been used to having a couple of pieces of toast for my morning meal.  Then I’d lift, after which I would take supplements and rest.  However, I wouldn’t take any food until dinner.  That was nuts.  No wonder I hit a plateau too tough to get over.  So I made some major adjustments to get myself up to speed.

After reading a number of articles, I decided to micro-manage my food intake.  Its the only way I can get a meal in every two to three hours, otherwise I simply forget.  I’ll get more detail with respect to what I eat and when I eat it, but the two-meals-a-day plan is dead in the water.  I thought that I was going to explode once I started eating more, but that hasn’t happened.

Next week, I return to Gold’s Gym, Pawtucket, after about two months of rehab.  It’s back to the bodypart-per-day system.  I’ll be using Animal Stak this month, and Animal Cuts for the second straight month, after a one-week hiatus.  I know I need to do more research, but I can’t wait to see how the lifting and the supplements will react to my body with this new diet.

Wish me luck,

Fred
