I have had some difficulty with public gyms:
no people my age or if there are people my age they are ripped and /or huge
Beefgut had mentioned staying motivated so I might post a vdeo on here of me working out so you guys can view it and have other people tell me what I am doing right or wrong.
I will do a jogging video first, and then some basic cardio around my house.
Motivation and prevention from ever overeating again.

Still trying to eat healthy at least 3x a day also.
Anyone else slack off in June?

After my first full week of strength training I can honestly say I am tired.
I am sore, bruised weakened, and above all satisfied that I have made this change for the better. I may hurt all over but for the first time I feel better about my appearance.
For instance from the chest and lat workouts I have already noticed an increase in my tightness and overall posture. I used to slightly slump sideways when standing now I stand straight up right with shoulders higher.
Also, there have already been slight shifts and changes in my overall physique but it may take a few months until they are more noticeable to other people. My pecs used to point forward like twin cones of flab: now they are flattening downward (which I hear will pass once the fat loss kicks in more this month) and starting to resemble a chest rather than a bosom. The muscle underneath can now be seen slightly if I flex in the mirror…whish is inpiring for another round Monday morning. My stomach has started to square off more and resemble a stomach rather than a bowl of pudding. There is mostly tightness at the top of my abs but the lower area may need about a 6-8 moonth adjustment period from fat burning supplements and hundreds and hundreds of crunches.
Overall I am pleased that I have noticed some results already, but in another sense I am realizing how out of shape I had become and am beginning to see how long it may take overall to get the kind of physique I desire:
about 12-16 months of hard work.
Thanks for reading, and any tips/comments/questions are welcome. I will also take progress pics as soon as I get a camera.

I just realized–I haven’t really explained why I started to workout now rather than sooner.
After 8-10 years of being a lazy fat ass my routine has become tiresome. I would wake up at 2-3 am and eat a huge bowl of cereal or microwave some hot dogs. If I ate 2 hot dogs then I’d eventually eat the whole package. Lunch was spent at either buffet restaurants or chinese restaurants for2-3 hours. Eating until I was past full and so sleepy I would nap in my car. I have some friends. I’m not a lonely person. I just preferred my own company over huge parties of people around. That way I could shove food in me for an hour or more at a time.
When I overeat, I get what runners have described as an endorphin high. It started when I was 16 years old when I would sneak packages of twinkies or cupcakes into my room at night from the local 7-11.
I used to be thin (not ripped) but I felt compelled to get bigger.
I worked out 2-3 times a week then, but after workouts I would pigout at a buffet for a half hour until I felt sleepy. When I stopped working out for 3 monhts one spring…I got a little gut. Guys would tease me about it and girls acted grossed out by it.
Then I would keep eating even though I felt guilty about letting myself go.
About 7 months ago I met a friend who was a fitness trainer. We had met through a friend at my work.
He was really mellow and looked at life in a distinct way. And he had the body I always wished of having: 18" arms, 54" chest and a 32" waist-total V shape. We had hung out for about a month when he
asked why I always wore 2 shirts. He asked why I dont workout. He did it in such a matter of fact way
I wasn’t freaked out. I took off my shirt. He reached over and slapped my gut flab. I laughed.
He said it took a long time to make myself this way.
Was I ready to make changes? He moved into my apartment a week later. He took me to the grocery store and showed me what quality foods were and then told me about how he got fit. He used to be heavy! I had no idea until he told me. He didn’t have any stretch marks or loose skin. He said a good friend helped him get over himself and started him walking. That was first step he said. And the next morning at 6 am we walked a mile. Just to see my endurance. It wasn’t easy but if felt amazing.
He said I’d have to wait to sprint or jog until I lost 20-30 lbs. I was 280 pounds last fall and now I am 240. I am ready to upgrade my workouts so I can mold my body and get my bodyfat% down.
Comments/tips are welcome becuase all of you inspire me to get better every day.

I swam laps freestyle this morning at 5 am.
I haven’t done that since my soph year of high school. Swimming is easier for me then jogging right now because I have so much extra skin. When I do jog I can do it for 5-10 minutes tops at a slow pace. I prefer to walk but at least I can jog in quick sprints. I feel confident after reading alot fo your profiles and seeing how far people have come since joining this site. I look forward to dating a girl. I look forward to showing off shirtless in summer time without worry that teenagers will laugh or yell comments because of my saggy chest. Thanks everybody to inspiring me to get muscled and get past my weaknesses (food addiction/binging).

Sup guys:
I haven’t worked out since I was a sophmore in high school (almost 25 here now).
This is my first brief post…but yeah there’s a long story involved.
Life is a strange journey but I am ready to make some major changes to achieve some goals I wasn’t sure were possible last year or the year before. I have let myself go since high school and I’m not sure if that was a good choice. It was partly laziness and partly food addiction.
Hope everyone shares a tip or 2 with the noob…I’m ready to get to work here!
