Not normally what I would consider a motivator since it really is not about what you weigh but how you feel about yourself.
Maybe it will work along with all my other motivators, like…the desire to compete again, the need to be strong and healthy, being equal to MY male co-workers, having sexy muscles and looking good naked…LOL (StephOfOz, wendym1979 & PenteKing…thanks of the input) etc. so here I go.
On the scale again this morning and off to the gym by2pm.
The pain, the sweat, the effort! The pure adrenaline / endorphin rush! The complete exhaustion afterwards: The resultant pump! The stare’s and comments….Being different! All of these things, all at the same time. Pure bliss, bodybuilding is!
Right now it’s seeing the daily change. more muscle, more definition. Eventually I look forward to the extreme confidence of shirtless glory. The glory of ripped abs and a physique that commands attention.
Here I go. Down to the basement to lift! This is when I really need to reach down deep to motivate myself, but as I read this blog, it helps me move forward.
I don’t need motivation to hit the gym. I enjoy the workouts and find it to be one of the best times of my day.
Where I need motivation is consistency with eating clean. Especially at night, I can be a weak-kneed sister with snacks & sweets. I’ve been doing better lately.
As a fellow traveler > 40, I find the many folks here who are lean and cut in their 40’s to be very encouraging.
I am pretty sure I have found my motivation. It is following others on BB.com as they progress, seeing my lbs. slowly melting off and staying healthy! I have to keep my parts in motion and nourished well because, I’m not gettin’ any younger! What is the old saying?…"Use it or loose it!"

For me, the primary motivation is to look good naked. There; I’ve said it. My secret is out.

Proving to my male co-workers that I’m tough, too.
