so, today is my third day with diet coke. i’ve had no diet coke at all - and i’ve been very good with my water intake. however, there have been a few points when i’ve wanted the can of pop. i’ve stayed strong though and resisted. not sure why i’m doing this, but i figure i’ll go a while more with diet coke - just to see how long i can go. i had dropped it down to 1 can a day last week.
anywho, split my HIIT with elliptical and recumbent bike today. felt great.

so yesterday, monday, i went without diet coke. no diet pop of any kind. i cannot think of a day in my adult life in which i consumed no pop. i did have coffee in the morning, but going the rest of the day without diet coke is huge. so put a gold star up for me! this is due to the water program i am on - which basically means i’m drinking water everyday - which is new to me.
tuesday, today, had a lunchtime workout on the giant stair machine at the Y, then went to do my ab workout. during the ab workout i remembered that i had a meeting to get to so i had to wrap it up very fast. that means no shower before i got dressed. (hold the boos) turns out that i was off by a half hour so i did have time for the shower! oh, well. i am happy that i got my cardio in.

did a nice HIIT on the treadmill saturday - nothing Sunday.
today hit the Y at lunchtime and worked HIIT again on the treadmill plus two different ab exercises. starting off the week on the right track.
on a different note, one of the things i gave up for Lent was popcorn/wheat thins (items i call salty treats). so last evening i’m watching a movie craving some popcorn, and all i could do was suck down more water. i must have consumed 3 bottles of water during that movie. which meant that i was going to the restroom way too much overnight. anyway, what are some good ideas for evening snacks - or what you might munch on during a movie?

well, doing cardio with a cold is fun. at times, i felt lightheaded but i got through. thursday i did HIIT on the giant stairmaster machine. only tripped twice near the end. i think some folks were concerned that i was going to biff it.
friday i did HIIT on ellipitcal as best as i could. i need to tweak what settings i use. both workouts were good with adbs at the end.
i’m starting back on the weight training today (sat). i’ve been rehabbing my shoulder so i’ve had two weeks off from lifting.
also, we bought a new bodyfat scale. the new scale (taylor) has been reading 3 - 5 lbs heavier than the old scale (tanita). at the same time, the taylor has been giving me 3% less body fat compared ot the tanita. any thoughts on this? and would everyone keep using the old scale - due to the fact that it is giving me a lower read out on weight? comments?

yesterday, wednesday, did 20 minutes HIIT on treadmill at lunch then added 7 minutes of rowing. needed to figure out the settings on the row machine to get my heartrate up to the right zone. other than that, decent day with the diet and still on the water plan. Also, still working through a cold/sore throat. which does not help things when you’re huffing it on the TM.

so over the weekend and into this week i have been drinking about 5 - 6 bottles of water per day. i am replaced some coffee/diet coke with water consumption. i have really decreased the diet coke intake. i wonder if cranking up my water intake (and decreasing coffee/diet coke) is an instant "positive" for my body. by this i mean the scale has been very good to me since i started the heavy water consumption. properly hydrating your body appears to be a big plus so far. sorry i didn’t start this sooner.

so, here’s my first post. i’m sick. that’s right, sore throat, achey, stuffed up head. so, no treadmill tonight.
this past weekend i did pretty good. lots of water, two HIIT workouts, feeling good. visited a home fitness shop monday. lots of cool treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines, and other stuff for a home gym. at some point, i’d love to add a second machine (ellip or row) to my home set up.
