Neither.
You need both to gain muscle. However there are a few rules:
1) Eat 6 small meals a day that contain carbs, protien and a fruit or vegetable.
2) Eat whole wheat carbs (no white stuff, no sugar, etc.)
3) Eat only lean protien (chicken breast, egg whites)
4) Keep portion size under control
What is recommended as a basic percent split is a 40/30/30. This means 40% protein, 30% carbs, 30% fats. You use this for a guideline cause as you gain or loose weight you’ll change your diet. Also if you gain fat easy you may lower your carbs and fat intake. ALRI recommended 18 calories per body pound. Just so you know, when figuring out how much food that is, 4 calories per gram of protein and carbs, and 9 calories from each gram of fat.
Since you are 14 you are starting at a perfect time, I would reccomend just being consistent with your training and eating, and learn as much as you can from reading everything. Also, once you start learning I would try to find someone to work with you, preferably someone into bodybuilding at your gym. And always listen to your body.
