I did it!  I broke the 200’s!  I love not having to say those dirty words anymore!!

Blah Blah…

Friday, January 18th, 2008

I’m not doin’ so well this week.  I had to take the week off from exercise due to being exhausted (an understatement).  I’m on another plateau.  This makes the 4th (I think, I’m losing count) in the last 3 months.  I seem to break them for a couple of weeks just to end up right back where I started.  The feelings of never getting to goal are sinking in.  It’s hard to fight some days.  It’d be easy to deal with if I knew I was "cheating" or slacking.  But that’s not the case.

I plan on picking up with my workouts again on Sunday.  I’m just hoping what ever is going on with my energy will subside before then.

Onwards??

Killer Workout!

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

I really kicked my ass in my quad routine last night.  It was awesome!  I’m feeling it this morning -  :D   I’ll have trouble doing any sitting later! ;)

In the AM I did my HIIT on the elliptical.  I usually have a very hard time getting my HR up on the elliptical.  I was able to get it up to 89% - saweeet!  I did that for 25 minutes.  I’ll move to 30 min. in a few days.

Jan. 1 - Jan. 6 Routine

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

I’m going to go back to breaking my exercise sessions up throughout the day.  It seemed to really make a difference with getting this weight off and revving my metabolism.  All HIIT and cardio will be at LEAST 2 hours apart from my ST.  Yoga before bed.

This is my week’s plan:

Tue – Elliptical 25 min. HIIT, ST quads/abs, Yoga

Wed – Elliptical 45min., ST chest/back, Yoga

Thurs – Elliptical 30 min., Yoga

Fri – Elliptical 30 min. “tempo”, ST Hams/Glutes, Yoga

Sat – Elliptical 30 min. HIIT, ST arms/shoulders, Yoga

Sun - OFF

Starting Out in 2008

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Sooooo, it’s 2008.  I go into this year with 9 months left to hitting my goal.  Thinking about how quickly, 3 months went by and what I accomplished IN those 3 months makes me very nervous of what I will accomplish in “only” 9 months.  (which actually comforts me because I KNOW I’ll MAKE this happen!)   A lot of learning took place in those 3 months, so I’m hopeful any plateaus won’t throw me off by that much.

My back is still injured so no running yet for me.  I’m a little bummed that I possibly will not have enough time, if at all, to train for the 10k I had planned to run with my brother and dad.  But, I’ve come to accept this okay.  I’m working with my chiro to resolve my back issue, and he is adamant that I will recover just fine.  I know I’ve read that my type of injury can take up to 6 months to heal, if not longer.  I’m at month 4.

With that being said, I’m confined to using my elliptical for cardio and HIIT.  I’m having trouble coming up with anything more creative for exercise right now.   The elliptical get’s very OLD very quickly!  In the summer I’ll have access to our pool, but that won’t help me now.  I can’t jump or jar my back, so most other exercise is off limits.  If someone has some creative ideas, I’d be open to hearing them – very open to hearing them.  My mind is in a rut right now.

With the boredom of the elliptical setting in it makes digging deep for that self-discipline much more of a must.  I have to remember that, because last week I slacked on that end of my exercise, while I still enjoy my circuits.  I’m going to do what I must to hit goal this year – this will be the most amazing year ever for me – I’m sure of that!
