I did it!

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

I made it through Thanksgiving!  Nothing left over but the healthy stuff and I’m extremely happy about that!  I made great choices and even got my circuit in before everyone arrived.  Now I have to make it through my birthday, which should be a piece of cake, not literally.  I’m hoping my husband is surprising me with tickets to a local womens’ MMA event.  That’d be TOO cool!  It’s still looking good for a FIRST EVER Thanksgiving week LOSS!

My “Virtual” Trainer

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

This is my "virtual" trainer… http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/raphaelcalzadillapodcast.htm Raphael Calzadilla.  He is a great motivational force in my life right now.  Through eDiets he works with teaching me, motivating me, and supporting me.  Without him (and of course my husband and all other support I get from everyone), I wouldn’t be as far as I am!  I’m excited to finally meet this wonderful, sincere, caring man on Dec. 8th.  I can’t wait!

It’s working! Why am I still skeptical?

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

I started my program on 1500 calories watching the % of carb/protein/fat.  Coming off of Atkin’s the fat was hard to get down below 40%.  I managed 35%, all the while telling myself fat wasn’t important, it’s the carbs.  I did start losing though.  I lost 10 lbs keeping my fat intake around 35%, protein 40%, carbs at 30% for a total calorie count of 1500.

In the beginning of October I saw an all new low 3 days before switching my strength training routine from a 3 day split to a 4 day split.  After switching I gained 4 lbs!  I knew it HAD to be from changing up my routine with more volume, but wasn’t convinced.  I managed to drop 2 of those 4 lbs but NEVER got back down to that low.  It’s been a month since then.

My "virtual" PT suggested I raise my calories to 1700 and drop that fat % yet again to 30%.  Today I completed a full week at these ratios.  I am now down to a NEW LOW!  I’m ecstatic!  And even with the weight coming down I find myself telling myself it might just be a fluke.  I guess it’s too good to be true.  That’s just more negativity that I MUST SQUASH!

Now that I’ve lost almost 50lbs I may post some before and afters, but I’m still feeling a little (no, a LOT) disgusted by sharing them.  Although, I’m proud of my accomplishments and my new lifestyle.
