I started my program on 1500 calories watching the % of carb/protein/fat. Coming off of Atkin’s the fat was hard to get down below 40%. I managed 35%, all the while telling myself fat wasn’t important, it’s the carbs. I did start losing though. I lost 10 lbs keeping my fat intake around 35%, protein 40%, carbs at 30% for a total calorie count of 1500.
In the beginning of October I saw an all new low 3 days before switching my strength training routine from a 3 day split to a 4 day split. After switching I gained 4 lbs! I knew it HAD to be from changing up my routine with more volume, but wasn’t convinced. I managed to drop 2 of those 4 lbs but NEVER got back down to that low. It’s been a month since then.
My "virtual" PT suggested I raise my calories to 1700 and drop that fat % yet again to 30%. Today I completed a full week at these ratios. I am now down to a NEW LOW! I’m ecstatic! And even with the weight coming down I find myself telling myself it might just be a fluke. I guess it’s too good to be true. That’s just more negativity that I MUST SQUASH!
Now that I’ve lost almost 50lbs I may post some before and afters, but I’m still feeling a little (no, a LOT) disgusted by sharing them. Although, I’m proud of my accomplishments and my new lifestyle.
