Following that Maximum Fitness magazine Quick Start diet, I lost 13.5 pounds. So I am pretty psyched now. I’ve switched to a healthy eating/carb restricted Abs Diet type plan now. Pretty sure I can reach my goal of 170# by October 10, as I am now at 176.

Best thing about following such a strict plan (meals prescribed every day; no variations) is that I feel I have broken my craving haboit for stuff like pretzels and crackers, etc. I am now used to eating a small healthy meal/snack.

Also back into the groove of working out again. Using a very simple, basic weight program from Bob Paris’s book Natural Fitness.

So, off to a good start. Stay tuned. When I reach 170 I plan to update the profile pic.

Valentine’s Day dinner out (pasta, wine, a little white bread) at our favorite spot didn’t help. But eager to clean up the diet and get moving. The goal tracker here is a big help. The grpah shows exactly where I am aheaded, and the calcualtins that say I need to lose 1.5 pounds per week make this seem possible.

My goal is to lose 35 pounds of flab and drop at least 8 inches from my waist. I have tried and failed many times. But I am tired of failing.

And in additon to wanting to look a lot better (i.e. leaner), I am old enough to need to worry about my overall health. Although I am generally in excellent health (but for the weight), the excess weight is likley starting to cause some less than desirable changes in my health. So that needs to change.

My fat loss goal date is June 30.

Wish me luck, and any and all words of advice or inspiration are welcome.
