It’s not about winning, It’s about achieving

So I set up this goal,  this task and it was for me to actually compete in this new sport of figure/bodybuilding. I never thought I would do this sort of thing, due to insecurities within myself. My pregnancy markings and surgery markings of a tumor that had to be removed in my ab region.

I finaly had the courage and my adventure began. Alot of hard work and training. As a personal trainer, I also set a goal to be a motivator to my clients, members, and friends.

If you really want something, you have to focus and reach for that goal. I always here from people, I want to loose weight, but I don’t have time, I work too much, I have kids, I am a single mom, my schedule sucks..etc..

Well I am all of the above…and if I can do it..so can anybody else if they put their heart and mind in it.

As for me..my goal was to actaully start and finish and to see my body change. One goal was for me to actually win a show, and I already did. Then I started stressing, thinking I HAVE to win the next show or I will let people down, and that was on my mind set for a while and being somewhat pressured. I had to refocus and had talks with my supporting friends to bring me back to reality why I started this.

It’s not about winning, I already did that..it’s about achieving. I don’t need to burn myself out. As a first timer in this next big show, I do not expect to win, I will expect that I actually did it, that I trained and dieted for several months and weeks.

I am getting my feet wet and getting the experience. Is this sport for me…looks like a yes, do I want to stay in figure, train harder and be a bodybuilder? That then will be next year, another goal another adventure.

So with that said, it took me a while, and these last 8 days till the Houston comp, I will enjoy and not stress over (at least try not too) do the best that I can, stay with the diet and excercise but not let it get to me to worry about winning, because its not about that, at least not this time.

Next year, then its another story, but not at this present moment.

I do want to thank all my friends who have supported me in this new journey that is almost to an end. I am blessed to have you guys from beginning and still for more years to come!

I thank the lord and my supporters for giving me the strength, the focus and the motivation.

This round is almost done, the hard work is just about to begin for next year!!!!

Thank you all and God Bless!

Hey Erica! OMG, this blog is exactly how I feel about myself!! Well, except for the wanting to compete in bodybuilding! LOL

You are truly an inspiration to me girl; I have or shall I say, HAD issues with my entire stomach/ab area for so long. The stretch marks and loads of fat that accumulated there!! I am on a mission as well, and I know I will get there. Thank you for expressing yourself to us; it really seems like you are talking directly to ME!!

Take care of yourself and I hope we can chat more often.

    Blessings,
    Ty~

Erica, I just wanted to leave a comment on your blog. You are a great inspiration, the hurdles that you jumped to get where you are were high and you made them. I have complete cofindence in you either way you chose, to stay with figure or bb you will be a force to be reckoned with!! Also it is not about winning (all of the time lol). Keep up the good work with clients, members, and friends and it will come.
    Thank You for sharing
    God Bless
