I AM in better shape today at 57….
then I was when I was 30!
DOCUMENTED MEDICAL EVIDENCE:
About 25 or so years ago, I had to take a routine exercise stress test for work. At that time, at about age 30, the test was inconclusive because I was not able to reach the target heart rate on the treadmill.
Earlier today, I had a routine exercise stress test which my internist suggested just to establish a baseline if there were future problems (as I am not experiencing any heart related symptoms.) I spent a total of 8 minutes on the treadmill at various inclines up to about 16 and at various speeds, while attached to an electrocardiogram and a BP monitor. Not only did I reach the target HR but the cardiologist was so impressed with the readings that he asked if I minded a few more minutes while he attempted to push me to the max. I attained a HR of 161 which is 99% of my max with normal cardiogram and BP readings and an excellent recovery to normal BP after we stopped. The cardiologist gave me a high five and told me to just continue what I have been doing!
So now it is off to Vegas for a week of late nights and bad food, but I will at least get the cardio in (every day I hope.)
Thanks for letting me share and for reading..I really feel great about this!
