So, today I didn’t go to the gym after work. I had to get ready for my redeye flight to DC. I know its going to be a lot colder in DC than in California. I hope the clothes I have will keep me warm. I hope there is a good gym close by the hotel. I’ll be there until Friday, but I have to first stop off at Houston. Once I get to DC I’ll do som tourist time and go see some sights. It will be good to get away from the office, but bad to be away from the family.

Ok, this is my own 2 cents but one must know their limitations. Being in my 40’s I don’t expect to be careless in my lifting techniques, because I don’t want to risk injury. I wish those people luck. Perhaps I should just look away.

When I was in high school, I would forever be on all of the leg machines. I loved to work lower body and hated upper body. Heck, I was in soccer and my weight was 112 lbs. as a senior. Now I dread working on lower body, but I still do it. Now, my workouts are in reverse and I love working upper body more so than the lower body. I don’t have chicken legs, but nothing to brag about. Yes, with this attitude I’ll never get Godzilla Quads…

But at the end of the evening, I worked out doing Dead Lifts, Squats, Hack Squats, Shurgs and Calves.

Ok, it was really hard to get into the gym after commuting home from work. It was a pretty busy day at the office and the only thing I wanted to do was just relax at home. At the last minute I got to the gym and worked out my back. I started off with Yates Rows and finished with Seated Cable Rows and Shrugs. I was suppose to do Wide Grip Pull Ups, but I ran out of time. At least I made it to the gym tonight.

I have to find time for my running. The problem is when I get near 200 lbs I generally have knee issues. My last weigh in was at 200.6 lbs. Yes, most of it is muscle mass, but I rather do without the knee problems.

Today I worked on triceps, forearms and abs. I felt really explosive in the gym. I started with weight dips and from there I was on a roll. I had a really good lift tonight and finished with overhead DB extensions, bar cable pushdowns, wrist curls and my ab workout routine. I actually felt tired going into the gym, but after my first exercise I finished really strong. I’m concerned about my weight. I weighed in at 200.6lbs this evening. I know it’s more mass, but the weight is still bothering me. I need to remember that muscle mass weighs more than fat.

OK, so I just looked at my workout log and realized I worked out 7 days straight and I was about to go the gym on Friday night. I know rest is something I need to do more and I have to say it was hard not going to the gym. Today I began the 2nd week of my 9 day rotation program. It was really empty at the gym tonight. I worked on Quads and calves. It was a decent lift night and I’m looking forward to lifting tomorrow with the many other Monday night peeps.

I have not run much at all since starting my new job in August. While I have definately gained more mass, I know my cardio isn’t where it was, but I hope to recover soon. The time change as well as the weather being colder will damper my running. I do miss my San Diego lunch time runs.

Take care all and have a great week!
