Got your attention?
Ok, it’s been years since I played college soccer or at any high level competitive game.
I have a recreational league game Monday and yesterday I had my 7 year old feed me some passes, so I can practice my shooting. My legs and body feels well and I have to say it’s because of the weightlifting and running. I shouldn’t have a problem come Monday. I’m coming on board with this team as they wrap up their season. It’s indoor play, so my current fitness level will help me. I should fit in well, because the team doesn’t have much on offense but they are good on defense.
Tonight my lifting routine calls for leg workout. I’m going to do light legs, so I am not too sore on Monday. Have a great weekend everyone!

I have not be logging my lifting info or posting a blog in a while, but things have been good for me.
I recently started a new job closer to home with better compensation and more career growth within 10 months from now.
As far as my workouts, I’ve been doing well. I’m not running as much so maybe I will be seeing more muscle growth. I’m finishing up my 4 Day Split this week and I will be starting my favorite 9 Day Rotation. I’ve come a long way since these last few years; learning more and more from the peeps here has really helped my lifting. Recently I purchased some Ab Straps and I’m really hitting the ab work. When I turn 48 next year, I should have my defined six pack by summer time. I can already feel and see the difference in my abs. Hitting the right exercises that work the Lower, Mid/Upper, Oblique and Core areas has really helped my abs. I need to get more disciplined with my diet.
I will begin playing soccer again, so I can see shredding some more body fat there.

I had a great day in the gym. That’s good considering I’ve been ill for the last 3 days. I don’t know where I got it or what I had, but it kept me up at night and I slept in until about 10:00am this am.
I felt pretty energized in the gym today. At first I was not thrilled about this routine, but I am starting to enjoy the tuff workouts. Its suppose to be a 4 day split, with days off in between but I’m so beat after the lifts that I elected to do the ab workouts on the off days. So, yes, I have been living in the gym
I just began using the Hammer Strength machines and I have to admit they are pretty good. I usually tend to lean towards using only dumbbells, but using HS’s does well for change ups. I can tell I’m making my muscles work.
After the lift I went for my normal run in the heat. I’m sure glad I bought that camel water pack for my runs.
Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

Well, so far so good I’ve hit my goals for 2008. I recently took the water dunk tank body fat test and I’m at 18%. For my age thats not bad, but I can see room for approvement. Eating right is the problem that I have and I have to address that issue. The physical therapist told me about a free online food log and I’m trying in now. What I’ve learned so far is that I am eating much of the wrong foods.

Day 7 I worked Biceps, triceps and abs. It was a great day to lift and on Day 8 I got to rest. The problem is, I strained my right calf muscle on Day 6, so I feel like I have a flat tire on my bod.

I had a great day in the gym. Ok, it was a fantastic day! It was hamstrings, traps and calves day. I made some great gains in the gym today and ran after my lift.
Workout success update: I was really strong in the gym today. I increased my lifting weight in the following exercises.
- BB Dead lifts + 70 lbs.
- Leg press + 110 lbs. <<<< Get some!
- Seated leg curls + 5 lbs.
- Seated calf raises + 25 lbs.

It was a good day in the gym. I felt really energized today and worked on chest and abs. While I lifted less weight on the flat DB bench that I normally do, I felt really good and had good form. Today I did weighted dips. I have not done this exercise in years and was able to get some good lifts today and used a 30 lbs DB. I probably should have used 25 lbs though.

Day 2. I worked on quads and calves. It was an ok night at the gym. I come to believe I don’t do well during the evenings after a hot day. I seemed drained, but I did do what I had to do. Success never the less, I did it.
Day 3. I worked on back and traps. I felt energized and had a good lift. I’m feeling more secure doing Yates Rows and I am improving on my pull ups. Like I said before, it’s nice to be off of the pull up machine. After the lift I went for a run in the heat. I hydrated well during my lift and I wore my camel water pack, so I was good.
With the high cost of everything, I made a switch to GNC Whey powder. I hope it works. While it’s probably not as good as my ISOflex, I got a 6 lbs tub on sale for $37.99 at Riteaid. ISOflex usually costs me $38.99 for a 2 lbs tub.

Yesterday was my first day back after taking 6 days off. I had not lifted for 6 days. It was a good rest and I could tell my body really needed it. I started the 8 day rotation with shoulders and abs. It was an ok lift. Nothing spectacular about it at all. Today I have quads and calves.
Have a great day everyone and don’t forget to hit the gym during this holiday week.

9 Day Rotation/day 9, wk 3
Today is a rest day and the last day from two lifting programs I completed over the last 6 weeks. I’m really happy that I did it and I look forward in doing my measurements soon. I have to think about how much rest time I should take prior to starting my new lifting program.
Next month at my gym there will be a dunk tank to measure body fat. The cost is $40.00, so I need to find out if this is a deal or should I go somewhere else.
I’ve been really happy with my progress during this year.
