Children Grow Up Too Fast! :-(

This morning the hubby and I saw my oldest daughter (she’s 13) off on her first extended school trip.  She will be going across several states and be gone for a week.  I thought I would handle this better, but I’m really not.  I’m sure she is totally fed up with me by now because I can’t seem to stop texting her to see how she’s doing :-) .  I’m surprised she hasn’t shut her phone off!  After we dropped her off I was actually sick to my stomach with worry.  What if she gets hurt, or sick, or someone picks on her, or she gets separated from her group and lost????  Rationally I know that she is going to be fine and if she gets sick there will be qualified people to take care of her, and the chances of her getting lost are slim, and if she did get lost she would have her cell phone on her… but I really don’t want to be rational!! :-) Really, I didn’t think I would be quite this bad! lol  This is my first real taste of having to let my children grow up and stand on their own and I think it will be an acquired taste for me, because right now I don’t like it! :-)   But it is going to be a great experience for her!  And I might even let her go on another trip; after about 10 years have passed!  ;-)

Well, today is the day for my youngest daughter to get her tooth pulled.  The swelling in her cheek has finally gone down and she isn’t complaining about her tooth hurting, so the antibiotics have done their job.  Right now she is calm about going to the dentist, but I know from past experience that once we walk through the door the waterworks will start.  Not that I can blame her… I’m not overly fond of going to the dentist either!

Today was a cardio day… 20 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes on the treadmill.  I also did 15 minutes of abs and 15 minutes of stretching.

I am feeling better now that my eating plan is back on track!  Super Bowl was definitely a food overdose situation for me!  I am hoping to get my weightloss back on track now that the eating is back on track.

Super Bowl is Bad for the Diet! :-)

Boy was this a bad weekend for eating and exercising!  My youngest daughter was really ill with an abscessed tooth that ended up spreading throughout the entire right side of her face.  We had to watch her really closely and constantly monitor her temperature because an abscessed tooth can be so dangerous if it spreads to the heart (which can happen quickly in the young and the old).  I didn’t get to the gym this weekend because I was too scared to leave her until she had been on antibiotics for more than 48 hours.  So, no exercise; and to make matters worse I completely overindulged in Super Bowl munchies!! :-( .  I had been on track to lose another 2 pounds this past week, but one day of overindulging completely wiped out my 2 pound weight loss. Darnit!

Today I was back on track and spent 1 1/2 hours at the gym.  I worked chest and triceps and then did 20 minutes of HIIT and 20 minutes of steady pace cardio.
