Pictures Don’t Lie…
Well they damn well better be lying to me!!
I always laugh when I see the comment… "Pictures don’t lie". And I laugh because, maybe they don’t exactly lie, but they are subjective. It’s a fact that we all have great pictures of ourselves that are flattering and show us in a good light, and we all have those pictures that we destroy immediately after viewing! My hubby can attest to the fact that if he takes 50 pictures of me, I might like, maybe, 2 out of those 50. And guess which ones I’m going to print/post/send… yep, the 2 that I like! Most of the pictures that are taken I will find something that I don’t like… my expression, the angle, my stomache, my face, the way I’m posing (or not posing), etc. And it always seems like when I get a great pose, my face looks dorky and when my face looks great, my pose is dumb. It’s enough to make me growl in frustration (which I do a lot when viewing pictures of yours truly).
My hubby is a trouper when it comes time for progress pictures… he willingly, calmly, and without complaining takes as many pictures as I feel necessary to find 1 or 2 that I like (of course he DOES get to see me posing and adjusting my bathing suit, so that’s probably why he doesn’t complain
).
Is anyone else like me, or am I just crazy? (okay, don’t answer the "crazy" part cause I already know I am!)

I’m raising my hand, ME! I’m so picky. Which is why my head is cut off in most of mine, LOL.
I get about 7 or 8 out of 50 shots that I feel are suitable for public observation, haha.

You don’t see anything in my progress pictures prior toMarch because I look like Jaba the Hut. Didn’t matter how many I took, from what angle, what lighting, what clothing, I was a fat a$$. Not sticking that on the internet.
If you don’t like it, don’t put it up. Makes sense to me.

I agree! I just posted 2 progress pics that I HATE because I needed new ones for the spokemodel thing. I’m embarrassed! Totally have the creatine bloat going, but hey….we put these pics up to be viewed and judged and maybe if we put the ones that show our bad angles, it will motivate us to work even harder to improve! Is that vain?
…..and yes, I’m crazy, too….with lots of pictures that never make the "cut"!!

Hell, Kimberley, just putting up my "mandatory pose pics" for the latest 40+ group challenge about made me vomit. I seriously almost dropped out of the latest challenge, just so I wouldn’t have to post ‘em….and those were the best out of at least 50 that my husband took. He does enjoy the photo shoots though.
But, like Kathy said, I am now motivated more than ever to reach my goals sooner rather than later…it’s probably exactly what I needed! Have a great weekend!

No point in putting up what you don’t like. So much easier with digital pictures.

Crabbie, I wish I’d taken pics from Jan19-Mar20 or so.
I’d love to show Mr. Obese so people could see how far I’ve really come.
It’s too bad you aren’t really nuts, KP. I’d love to use the line that you (or someone) is just plain bat**** insane.
I throw out about half to 2/3 of the progress pics I take, but not to find the best looking ones - mainly to find the least fuzzy ones. Yes, I suck as a photographer. Perhaps I just need better models. ;D

I’m in the same boat. that’s why all my pics tend to have my daughter in them. Once she’s in them, it takes any interest or focus from me. Have a great weekend.

I’m not taking any more pics until I work off that doughnut.
But, yes, I am the same way. Take pics, don’t like them. Do it again.

I do take a lot of pictures of FitClubMom for her updates, I do see her adjust her swim suit, and I never complain about any of it

I spend more time erasing pics off of my camera than I do taking them………
Looking at pics of myself is similar to looking at a bloody wound, makes me nauseous…..
But I suppose it is those yucky pics that make us push on………… They are an ugly constant reminder that we want more…………
