Hello all. I’ve been doing squats twice a week and running stairs maybe 4 to 5 times a week. I know that both types of exercises are suppose to tone the thighs and glutes but are they suppose to make them bigger as well? I’ve noticed that my pants that once fit loosely in the thigh and butt area are now fitting tighter. The scale doesn’t show that I’ve gained any weight, in fact I’ve lost 5lbs. So help me out, should I continue to do these exercises or are there other execises I can do to tone the thigh and glutes without them getting huge?

I usually don’t workout in the mornings during the week but I decided to change my routine a little and get a quick workout in. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are my arms and back day so I worked those areas this morning. I don’t belong to a gym and I don’t have much equipment at my house, so all I could pretty much do were pushups, dips and work with the dumbells. I have 10lb. dumbbells at the moment. Here’s what my workout looked like:

Jump rope: 100 revolutions

Jumping Jacks: 75

Pushups: 50

Crunches 100+

Tricep Dips: 3×20 reps

Overhead Press: 3×15 reps

Bicep Curls: 3x 20 reps

Dumbell Bent over Row 2 x 20

Tricep Kickbacks 3 x 15

It was a pretty good workout for me because I usually run a mile and 15 to 20 bleachers. When I got home I did a few crunches and stretched.
Just wanted to document my progress so far. I have been very consistient with my workouts more than I have ever been in the past. I can see a major change in my arms. They don’t have too much of the jiggle they use to have. I guess the dips are working.

Well this morning I was able to get a little cardio workout in after not working out for about 3 days. I went to my now favorite place, a high school track. They have these really high stairs that I run up and down about ten to twenty times. It really does a number on my thighs and butt. Hopefully I’ll see a change really soon. I also ran around the a few times. It started to get really hot so I headed home where I jump roped and did about 50 pushups.

Hello all. After viewing the profiles of many of you here on bodyspace.com, I was motivated to get more serious about my workout to get my body in the best shape possible. So this morning at 8:00am I went to the track and ran a couple of laps. I quickly found out that I’m not in as good of shape as I use to be. After the track I went to the lake and ran up a nearby hill about 6 times. I also worked my arms and back.
