Well, my buddy came back, this week, from a different FOB. I forgot what it was like to train with a partner. I’ve noticed I am eating more and running less. Other than that, it’s been going well. He’s stronger than me, so he really pushes me to lift more. I can also put more weight on the bar since I have a spotter.
Beach time is coming up in about three months. I’m gonna bulk a little for the next two months until I leave Iraq. Then I’ll cut and tan the first month I return home. Then I’ll be ready to hit the beach with a better physique and more color than previous times.

So, today was a 2 mile run day. I have been prepping for it for a while. A couple of weeks ago we had a scheduled fitness test, but it had rained the night before. So, I basically ran a 14:30 two mile in the mud. I had planned to test out the two mile on my own today. I wake up and look outside to find that there’s a dust storm over us. Boo. I trek on and think that I’ll probably do better since the ground was hard and dry. No dice, I ran a 14:27. And this time I felt like I had a pretty strong run, too. I’m going to keep up what I’m doing and hope that we’ll have a clear day on my next try. I should be able to run a 14:00 flat, on a good day. My goal is to come in under 13:50 before I leave this place… I think it’s very possible. We’ll see.
Things are looking up though, I had chocolate soy milk this morning.
