A new way to get my upper chest going

As with most people i see or know, my upper chest was smaller and weaker than my middle/lower chest. I never really realized it much or put effort into changing it until the last year or so, and now i use the priority principle much more.

I started doing my incline bench (dumbell or barbell) first in the workout, when i was fresh. Then i move on to my flat presses and so on. This made a dramatic difference in my chest development. Where I used to be able to push about 30 pounds more on my flat bench, now they have evened out, and i can rep just about as much on my incline presses as with my flat. It took about 3-4 months to even out while using this method.

I read in some article about some bodybuilder, i forget who, and he said he was yet to see someone with an overdeveloped upper chest. That hit me, and really changed my chest days haha

I do not mean to infer that I am even near the level you have achieved, but something that has help me with chest is to isolate all the exercise to upper chest one workout - rather than doing some incline, some decline, and some flat.

My upper chest and shoulders really suck compared to flat bench and decline. Military presses are super hard for me - so I know what I need to work on. I prefer dumbbells for incline and shoulder presses because the bar sort of separates a rep into two distinct parts in a weird way for me.

Good idea Steve. Think I’ll try your technique…have the exact same issue. Thanks!!…

WHAT are you talking about RK, youre crazy ripped! haha

Yes i agree with that idea…i might just do some dumbbell and barbell incline stuff tonight, then do some various fly movements. ive never tried only doing incline in a workout, one of my friends does that regularly though….

CBRmitch….cbrs are great, ive had 5 of them and currently ride one haha. and the priority principle works with anything, hit your weak areas first in your workouts. and hit them with the heavy compound movements like presses when youre fresh.
