Max lift day, again.

May 22, 2007

feel pretty good about back and bi’s but can’t understand why my bench didn’t come up. gonna try that one again tomorrow. Chest size has increased, but no increase in strength. weight is still stable at 270 +/- 5 lbs. Squats and Bench max lifts tomorrow will see how we do. I’ve been doing cardio (either basketball or machines) 3 times a week and lifting 3-4 times a week. Diet has been OK (slacked off during my vacation a little). I expect better results next month on my max lifts.

Sorry, Life got in the way

April 27, 2007

As you can tell from the picture. I am a firefighter. I am also the Air Quality manager for the Dept.  My job involves making sure that the SCBA packs and masks are certified and that all the firefighters get fit tested for their masks.  I am also responsible for ensuring the quality of the breathing air provided by the air compressor.  My collateral duties have gotten in the way of my workouts, this blog, and many other things.

I also won’t be able to make blog entries next week as I am going on vacation for my birthday. So my next post should be sometime around May 7th.

Playing basketball with the crew this afternoon to get my Cardio in today. Normal workouts should resume after my vacation.

Todays Workout

April 13, 2007

Sorry about not posting yesterday as the rigors of firefighter life kept me out of the gym yesterday. I was a bit disappointed in my Bench press max but I realize now, later in the day, that I may have been a little optomistic on what I thought I could achive. Squat Max increased just like everything else but I have been focusing on legs to help increase my metabolic rate, so I am still just a little disappointed in that. I set new goals of 300 in bench and 350 in squat to focus on my goals of more chest mass and weight loss.

next post should be 18 April.

Too everyone who reads this good luck on your goals and stay strong.

workout April 11

April 11, 2007

Did maximums for Deads, Curl, Row, and Military Press. I was pleasently suprised in both the Rows and Deads as the starting points I set in the computer are not that old. Tomorrow I plan to do max lifts for Bench and Squat and then return to my normal workout Friday.

No Cardio Today or Tomorrow as I would like to establish some nice (at least for me) max lifts.

Starting Over.

I used to work out in high school but thanks to Navy life I got out of the habit. In 1999 I left the Navy and started over. I am overweight (still) and out of shape, but this is gonna change.

It is my plan to overcome, this year. I want to be 225# and Bulking by my wife’s birthday in November. (What I great birthday present for my wife.)
