I haven’t been using this blog feature much, so for much more updated information, check out my log on the forums.
I’ve been working out 5-6 days a week since February 2009 now (and between a month to two on, I take a week to rest) and am feeling great. I’m slowly trying to improve my diet each week, working on changing one meal at a time. I feel if you try to overhaul everything at once, I often get turned off by the idea of having to calculate so many things etc and end up not doing it.
This past week has been pre&post workout nutrition, and maybe this week I’ll tweak breakfast a bit to add some more calories to it.

It’s been almost 2 full months that I have not been to the gym. I have some weights here at home and have been playing alot of soccer recently, so my weight has been around the same. This full-time job thing is not fun at all, too bad I just can’t work out for a living.
Anyway after getting up to speed on BodySpace and seeing so many dedicated and determined members, I decided I just have to make it work. Whether it is going at 4am or going late at night (my job hours are 730-5 and I’m home by about 6), I need to go. Something I also am looking to do is having a proper diet. I tried this while I was at school for a while and love it, however it did not last due to my studies, not having a car, etc. I never eat junk all the time but if I alter my diet some I could definitely see some changes.
I’m looking to lose body fat most of all, then put on solid lean muscle. One of my biggest goals is to work hard at my abs. This is something I really have never achieved well and that needs to change. The diet should help me obtian this goal as well.
I’ll update again when I plan everything out and decide when I’m going to start, probably at the start of September when I get everything organized.

Well I finally graduated college with a Computer Engineering degree in 4 years. Virginia Tech was a great experience for me but I was ready to move on. I’ve been done for about 3 complete weeks now, going on the fourth. I took one week off after the final semester until I got back into the gym. I had not worked out since around Easter (when I had flown up to NY for my interview), so that was a solid break that I was ready to put an end to. Now going into my third week of lifting, it feels great. I am trying to eat healthier each day (although long days at work add in an extra challenge) and I believe it is helping me during my workouts. I also decided to do some cardio for 5-12 minutes after lifting for some extra fat burning. So far, I like it.
Hopefully I get back into the forums a bit and can give/receive some good advice for making the proper gains. I definitely want to aim to be more cut, as well as put on a few more pounds of muscle. Perhaps I’ll get some pictures up soon as well.

Got my first workout in for the opening day of the semester today. It felt great to get back in the gym and lift. It was also great seeing some of my classmates I haven’t seen since before break and finals from the Fall. I took some pictures last night to show where I am starting from and will post them later on when I get done with a class and research. Today’s workout consisted of 15 minutes of cardio before lifting, then 4 ab exercises at 4 sets a piece, bench, incline bench, flyes, elevated pushups, skullcrushers and dips. Definitely going to hurt tomorrow but it is a feeling I have missed and haven’t felt in a long time.

Well this upcoming semester, starting Monday January 14th will be my final semester at Virginia Tech. I plan to be working out the entire semester as I missed it very much last Fall. I was not able to work out consistently due to having two jobs and 19 credit hours. I drew up a temporary routine yesterday and will adjust it accordingly when I get back to school and try it out.
Something else I plan on doing this semester is preparing alot more of my own food rather than using the dining halls for a few meals. This is because it is pretty hard to find a meal that contains everything I want it to.
Anyway I will update my profile accordingly when I get started and add some new pictures of any progress I make. Have a good one.

Thanks for everyone who has been concerned, and if you don’t already know I attend Virginia Tech. And Monday, April 16th, I was in Norris Hall where many of my classmates were lost, just a floor above them. It was a sad day and I hope I recover from what I saw that day and went through. Unfortunately I will not work out this week but I hope to get back into it next week. Please if you can, wear Orange or Maroon today, Friday the 20th, as Virginia Tech is trying to create a national Orange/Maroon effect day (something we do for our sporting events). Thank you.

Lot less school work this week, which meant I had a great week to work out. Had excellent back and arm days I thought, my tris are pretty sore right now. I took a few new pictures and am most pleased with the way my back is looking. Definitely because of that chin up bar I purchased last weekend and the revamping of my back routine. I’m eating well and doing some cardio after my workout to try and lose some body fat, become a little more cut. I think that will be my goal for right now since I can maintain my weight very well. Still have to keep working at the abs every morning but they seem to be coming along. Been working at my diet to keep more and more fat out and increase the protein intake a little bit so hopefully I can improve that as well in the next few weeks. Three weeks left of school and then I start my internship in Jersey, but hopefully I’ll be going home to New York each weekend to spend time with the family and whoever. Enjoy your day.

Last week sucked pretty much. Exams, projects due, and more assignments all over the place. Only managed to get to the gym 3 times, so I wasn’t too pleased with that. This week should be much lighter and I should be able to get back into my 5 day routine no problem. I also bought a chin up bar over the weekend to install in the apartment. Hopefully this is going to help my back development along.
In other news, I got an internship for the summer. This is great because now I can relax about landing one of these and maybe school will feel a bit easier for the rest of the way. It’s on a naval base in Jersey, I’ll probably be working out on the base for the 10 week program. I should have about a month on Long Island to hang out and lift before I have to go back to school for Fall semester in August.

Well I ordered a dipping belt tonight so I can pack on some weight to my dips. I have been working in some pull ups also so eventually when I can get a decent set of those in I can use this too. Bought the Grizzly Belt right off of bodybuilding.com for <$30 after shipping.
But anyway, back to some studying and school work. Busy week this week.. going to suck.

Well I was thinking of a few things I want to accomplish within the near future and this is what I came up with:
Be able to see my abs without flexing them
Become a little bit leaner (approx 12% right now, maybe get to 9% or 10%)
Develop my back more
Calculate the proper amount of calories/protein/etc to help my muscle gain and fat loss
Today was a pretty good leg day, challenged myself a bit at squats, even though I did them on the Smith machine. My knees click sometimes just running or even walking so I like using the Smith. I feel like I’m a little more safe from my legs giving out. I had them checked out by my girlfriend’s dad who is a PT and he said I just had ‘play in my knees’, which is perfectly OK. Even if it is alright it just feels funny. Anyway I’m off for the weekend but got lots of school work to do. I’ll probably do crunches every morning and thinking about getting pullup bar for my room.
