It’s that time again! Yep, my official weekly weigh-in. Guess what folks? I lost 7.2 lbs since my last official weigh-in. At that time I clocked in at 314 lbs, this morning I was at 306.8 lbs. I finally passed my goal of 5 lbs. lost. I am on track to be under 300 lbs for the first time in a very, very long time. It’s one of my mini-goals. Here is the my current weight loss chart. I am also back to my lowest weight of 303.6 lbs in December of 2007.
Workout-wise I still have the same uplifted, powering tempo when I lift, run and bike. I tend to want more, but I know when enough is enough. Sometimes you need to tell yourself to stop so that your body can be able to do it again the next day. Today I was able to crank more reps out easier than I have been able to in the past. I am feeling stronger, which is good. I like lifting heavy enough to go to 8 to 10 reps. Anything above that is too light. I should be able to add some more weight to my lifts next week.
Calorie-wise I am consuming from 1200 to 1500 calories a day. It depends on if it’s a lift day or a cardio day. I get the majority of my calories from protein. I keep it low carb and fat for now. I don’t plan to do this for the rest of my life, only until I reach my ideal weight and sculpt. Once I do that, I am thinking of just eating a certain amount of calories per day (from 1500 to 2000), without focusing too much on where they come from (I may change my mind on this in the future). I can read my body pretty well and I know when it’s telling me things. Does that make any sense to you, it does to me?
I weighed myself on Monday after my first cleanse day on the 30 day Isagenix program and was 311 lbs. Since starting my Isagenix program I have lost 7.2 lbs. I am looking forward to the rest of the program. I am feeling really good during the day, full of energy before, during and after my workouts. All good news so far. I try to get in morning workouts, but when I don’t I make up for it in the afternoon. I am also doing two workouts a day about 3 days a week. Normally I would feel burnt out by 7 PM, but I haven’t been feeling like that lately.
Something cool that I plan on doing is training on the weekends with my cousin. He is planning on joining the Marine Corps. He is a totally out of shape skinny, flabby guy. I am looking forward to posting progress photos as I train him in the core Marine exercises.

I was contacted by someone I respect with the idea of cleansing my system to help with my some stubborn weight loss. Over the last month I have lost 6 lbs since getting back on track with my eating. After a month of doing some digging into the product, I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. I’ve got nothing to lose but weight right? The following video blog is goes over my first day on the Isagenix 30 Day Cleanse. Check out the Isagenix cleansevideo I made.
I am looking forward to some great things. Day 1 and 2 of the cleanse is pretty simple: during Pre-cleanse I need to replace two meals with their IsaLean shakes and eat one sensible meal a day. So far today I am feeling pretty good. I followed the rules and am not the least bit hungry. The plan allows for you to snack or cheat if needed, but it’s best not to. Like I said, I haven’t been hungry all day. I don’t have a desire to binge or snack either. They also have this chocolate candy you can eat!!! Chocolate. That’s right. It’s called IsaDelight.
As promised in the video, here is the link to the Isagenix 30 Day Cleanse page so that you can check it out. Search around and explore. Check out the ingredients and nutritional content of the products. I highly suggest that you watch the videos. There are some professional athletes and bodybuilders that swear by this stuff. Speaking of which, they have whey protein too. So, it’s not just for fatties like me. I would love for you to join me on this 30 day journey and see where it takes us. I know of some people that have had great results with the program, because they followed it correctly. If you do decide to take the leap, let me know so that we can work together as a team. Support is crucial during weight loss, I know that for a fact. Having this blog has already helped me lose a significant amount of weight and I think that adding Isagenix to the mix will be even better.
There’s only one way to find out though! Have you tried Isagenix and had success? Failure? Let me know, I am extremely interested.

Last week I confessed about not having been eating properly. I haven’t weighed myself in a very long time. I finally weighed myself today, it was not a pretty sight. I’m extremely disappointed with the number I saw on the scale. I clocked in at 320 lbs.
That sucks! Big time. I gained back over 16 lbs. I’ve been hammering out some killer workouts, but I guess my eating poorly has caused me to put the weight back on. I have gone ahead and added the weight lost back to "Lbs Lost So Far" area above. I have also updated my weight chart, something I hadn’t done since December 2007.
I am committing to weighing myself once a week from this point on until I reach my first goal. What is that goal? To lose the weight I put back on. How am I going to achieve that? Working out and controlling my eating. When I ate healthily, in moderation, and frequently I lost weight. That’s the piece of the puzzle that I need to add. I lost track for a while, but now my eye is on the prize again.
Now everyone knows how big of a disappointment this weigh-in was. Next week won’t be so bad because I am going to crank it up a notch!

I think it’s time to start pushing it to the next level. At least I think it is. Isn’t it? Each workout feels easier each day I do it. I think I want to start incorporating some different exercises into my routines.
Yeah, I think that’s what’s best. I think I will run longer on the treadmill, then do some sprints afterwards or possibly jump rope. A buddy of mine gave me a brand new Everlast jump rope. It’s a boxers rope. Pretty slick. The few times I have used it have made me feel like a professional in training. LOL.

Ever since getting back home from New York I have been finding it extremely hard to exercise and eat better. I told myself that when I got back home it would be back to my normal routine that I followed before heading off on vacation. Well, disappointingly I have not lifted one weight or eaten anything healthy. It has been about 2 weeks since I got back. Ugh. I can’t stand myself right now, but I know that I need to get my act together.
The closest I have come to a workout has been running around the house playing tag with my 2 year old daughter. I know that I lost what I gained (stamina-wise) because running around the living room makes me lose my breath and I start breathing really hard. I have also manage to break a sweat by changing the car seat from car to car outside in the hot sun. Besides that there has been nothing.
I do have the desire, but I am not sure how to kick start myself. My wife is back on track, working out and eating right. She tries to motivate me but I resist. Those darned Burger King Rodeo Burgers are too irresistible, and they are only $1 for now!! How can I say no to that? Anyway, I guess I need to dig deep and man up (as they say back where I am from).
I have already failed my goal of being at a decent weight by end of August. I managed to gain back all the weight I lost and lose all the stamina and energy that I gained.
Here is to hoping that I can man up and start getting my act together.

I was in New York over the last 5 or 6 weeks and it was torture. I was not able to get online, workout, feel good, or anything. I had a horrible time and it affected me in every facet of my life. I went backwards as far as my workouts and diet are concerned, but I am confident that i can get it back on track.
I am re-starting my routine tomorrow, Saturday. This time I will not be deterred.

I played wii sports last night for about 2hours straight. It is one of the most amazing gaming systems ever built because it lets you get your fix of gaming in, but you can also get a decent workout in too. I was drenched in sweat, breathing hard and loving every minute of it.

It has been a while since I posted. Since my last post I have been hitting th weights and cardio on a consistent basis. Except for a couple of days last week when some "things" happened that required my undivided attention. But besides that I have been on a role. I have already made this my way of life. One thing I am looking forward to is the day when I can eat whatever I want and not have to worry about it. But that is a long way away, possible some time around Christmas, which would be perfect because my family tends to make some of the best food around the holidays.
Other than that I feel really strong. Stronger than before. I have also incorporated some different exercises into my routine which have helped me get hit some untapped parts of my body. I am also looking forward to being able to do some more cross training.
One thing I did notice today was that as I was on the treadmill I felt the weight holding me down. It was as if I had on a fat suit and it was pulling me down towards the earth. I hated that feeling!!! It made my legs feel heavy and my back hurt. Just thinking about it now makes me feel sluggish. Once I drop the weight I will try my hardest to keep it off.
I have decided to not weigh myself for a few weeks, maybe months, and to not take any pics until I do weigh myself. I will just post my progress by how I am feeling physically, by how my clothes fit, by how my body fits in the world around me (chairs, amusement park rides, tight places, etc.), and by how people react to my appearance. Besides that I won’t be officially measuring my progress with a scale for a while.
Well, that’s all for now. Until next time… Get it done!

Well, I am happy to say that I lost 18 lbs so far in only 2 weeks since I have begun my journey. I have developed a mini-complex. By that I mean that I on a constant workout mode. I always want to be working out or eating right or doing something that will assist me in my overall weight loss. I guess its a catch 22 because it’s good that I want to be healthy and exercise but I also need to catch myself so that I don’t over train or under eat.
I have also decided to only blog a few times a week, minimum once a week. My workouts have me feeling awesome, lighter on my toes as I walk around. I have had some really great workouts this past week. This was only the first full week of my strength and conditioning training, but it has been awesome. I have managed to up my minutes on the treadmill to an average of 20 minutes per session before needing to slow it down to a walking pace. My strength training has been awesome. I am actually in a really good place. I have been able to maintain a good amount of strength through out my fat days. I also discovered that I have a good amount of lean muscle, which is over 200 lbs.
Overall, with my cardio, strength, and alternate routines I am happy. Plus losing 18 lbs in 2 weeks makes me feel good. I was originally aiming for 10 lbs a week, but I think a reasonable amount would be 5 lbs minimum lost per week. Anything over 5 is just extra. I want to take this time to say that losing over 2 lbs a week is not something anyone should strive for unless you are experienced with it. I have been through this road before and know my limits.
I have been able to stick to my strict eating diet. I have managed to only drink water and green tea for the last to weeks. I have the occasional soy milk or 2% milk with my cereal. I have cut out practically all of the sugars I used to consume. Its been a very strict diet, but I know that I need to do this in order to reach my goals. I have cut out anything else. I eat healthy and it feels good to know that I am sticking to it. I am already used to the eating of certain foods only so it isn’t a big deal anymore. When I go out to dinner I order healthy dishes.
I am looking forward to next weeks weigh-in and progress. So, until then, without further ado, here are the updated photos.
