Day 142: 10/17/07

Wow, back on my diet the last two days and my body is AGAIN flushing water like mad. I slept little last night, urinating and getting some good cardio in tromping back and forth to the porcelain altar.

I have altered my diet, bringing the calories down to 2,250 to 2,450 a day (workout day), in an attempt to get back on the fat loss track.

I’m off to watch Transformers. There’s more than meets the eye, don’tcha know?

Day 125: 09/30/07

Toxins! Having gone through body detox, eating healthy and nutritious food for over 4 straight months, my body revolts when I have cheat days. To put it bluntly, I feel like crap the next day.

After having a cheat day yesterday (my end of month ritual just to remind my brain that, yes, crap food does taste good, and no, it isn’t something I can do everyday), I awoke with a runny nose and a feeling of lethargy.

One good thing about cheat days - they always leave me not wanting to cheat for a long time.

On a side note: I went to see The Game Plan yesterday with my daughters. What an amazing film! My family was caught off guard by this film. It is a great family film, and a must see for fathers, especially fathers with daughters. We all laughed, cried, and wanted to see it again.
Chest Workout

Bench Press,  135×5, 185×3, 215×3, 245×1

2-Board Press, 225×6, 225×3

BB Overhead Press, 125×8, 125×6

Posting this a bit late. I celebrated my 40th birthday last night, had a cheat night, watched the Badgers AND Brewers win on TV, and stayed up late to watch Jay Cutler win the 2007 Mr. Olympia. A lot of action for this (nearly) 40 year old man.

I had pizza, cake and ice cream for my cheat day, and WILL wake up with a food hangover.

Pizza. I had pizza to night to celebrate my 40th birthday. My birthday isn‘t until October 13th, but it has been a loooong time since me and my family has done anything spontaneous. So, we had the za.

Quite a bit of chest soreness today, including my triceps. This is highly unusual; I rarely get noticeable triceps soreness.

I am backing off of creatine in the next month. even though I am drinking about 120 ounces of water a day, it is leaving me feeling thirsty at all hours of the day.

Also, I am switching to Met-RX protein bars. MLO Xtreme were ok, but as I am ditching creatine for a while, I will not be eating them. (MLO contains 5 grams of creatine

O! O! Oatmeal, how I love thee so! Swaggled down with a protein drink, you make my muscles grow!

There you have it, poetry. I will never attempt poetry again, unless I decide to.

Anywho, I am eating my oatmeal, waiting for the Green Bay packers to play, having finished an update over at Muscle and Brawn. Check it out, if you have time.

Yesterday was a back day for my wife. She wanted to do something new, instead of boring old dumbbell rows. I had her try rack pulls. She is sore today, and loves it. I think my wife is secretly a powerlifter. Who knew?

Subway, eat fresh!

I met someone for dinner tonight, and instead of my normal chow I ate a chicken teriyaki sub. Not bad, but I still feel hungry.

My hams are sore today, and getting slightly worse as the day goes by.

A cheat meal tonight. I have been having urges for a cheat, so instead of my regular dinner I had hamburger, salsa, chili and cheese. Not exactly ice cream, cookies and pizza, but it works for me.

Day 71: 08/07/07

I am devising a new weightlifting routine tonight. I want to up the intensity and frequency. Wish me luck.

Here is my dieting advice for anyone looking to lose weight:

1) Carbs only from fruit, veggies, oatmeal, quinoa, brown rice farina, and the like. No processed carbs and foods whatsoever. 

2) Protein! Most people, dieters included, eat too little protein. When dieting, most lose a ton of muscle in addition to fat and end up looking thin and flabby. Eat protein, and get lifting…maximize your muscleretention.

While I didn‘t have a cheat day today, I did eat more calories than normal. My wife wanted pizza for her birthday, and I “snabbed” a few pieces.
