I just had to do it. I had to double check my bodyfat level. And, it was in the 25’s. Even when the progress is steady, I still am having a hard time believing it when I see a change.

My knee felt slightly better today. If it is still bothering me on my next leg day, I am going to work up to a squat max instead of doing heavy reps. Tomorrow is deadlift day. I am going to try 415 for reps.
I took my bodyfat last night and found that I was down to near 25%. This is a drop of 2%, and reveals that even though I haven’t lost weight on the scale, I am still losing fat and gaining muscle.

Just a short post today. I have a slight sore throat, no doubt caught from my sick daughter with the same symptoms. But, other than that I feel fine.
My bodyfat reading today is: 29.1%, another drop from my previous measurement.
This means that since I started lifting weights (about 45 days ago), I have lost about 15.07 pounds of fat, and gained 6.67 pounds of muscle.

Little time to blog today. I checked my bodyfat today. It was a bit higher than the doctor said, but much better than what I had measured on July 22nd. Click here to see the numbers.
Body Fat % = 31.40
Fat = 75.74 (-5.29)
Muscle = 165.46 (+0.49)
In the last ten days I have roughly lost 5 pounds of fat and gained a half pound of muscle.

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007
07/22/2007: 246.0 pounds
Bodyfat % = 32.94
Fat = 81.03 (-1.35)
Muscle = 164.97 (+3.55)
My bodyfat percentage indicates that I lost fat and gained lean mass. I don’t know if this is from muscle memory, or if my body is holding water.

This is a preliminary body-fat measurement. For accuracy sake, I plan on taking my body-fat measurements each Sunday morning after I wake up. Since this reading was not taken at that time, I am not going to use it as a starting point.
Total mm fat, chest, abdomen and thigh skinfolds = 123 mm
Body-fat % = 34.4
Weight 250.4 pounds
Fat pounds = 86.13Â
Muscle, etc pounds = 164.27
3 years ago I weighed 310 pounds, and had a body-fat percentage of 42%. Since then, I have lost 44.07 pounds of fat and 15.53 pounds of muscle (non-fat).
Please understand that non-fat weight is (obviously!) not all muscle, but for simplicity sake I will refer to non-fat poundage as muscle from here on out.

Not much to say today. My legs are sore from yesterday’s workout, which is a good thing. But…but, I am tired, and between my fatigue and sore legs, have decided not to run today. I worked overtime yesterday and mentally need some time to sit on my backside.
I am anxious for my weight lifting equipment to arrive. Hopefully it doesn’t take a month. When i start weightlifting, I plan on measuring my body-fat percentage once a week and tweaking my diet so that I lose little to no muscle while I lose fat. I might be losing fat at a slower rate, but I can deal with that.
One of the strategies I will be taking during this process is utilizing a zig zag approach. On my training days I will eat a bit more. Tomorrow I will be performing my pushing workout. (push-ups and dips, et al)
Today’s calories = 2,300
I have been eating a Clif’s protein bar for breakfast lately, and this is bringing up my calories slightly over my original diet plan.
