Toxins! Having gone through body detox, eating healthy and nutritious food for over 4 straight months, my body revolts when I have cheat days. To put it bluntly, I feel like crap the next day.
After having a cheat day yesterday (my end of month ritual just to remind my brain that, yes, crap food does taste good, and no, it isn’t something I can do everyday), I awoke with a runny nose and a feeling of lethargy.
One good thing about cheat days - they always leave me not wanting to cheat for a long time.
On a side note: I went to see The Game Plan yesterday with my daughters. What an amazing film! My family was caught off guard by this film. It is a great family film, and a must see for fathers, especially fathers with daughters. We all laughed, cried, and wanted to see it again.

Posting this a bit late. I celebrated my 40th birthday last night, had a cheat night, watched the Badgers AND Brewers win on TV, and stayed up late to watch Jay Cutler win the 2007 Mr. Olympia. A lot of action for this (nearly) 40 year old man.
I had pizza, cake and ice cream for my cheat day, and WILL wake up with a food hangover.

Well, just another average week. My weight went up slightly this week, but returned to the level it’s been all month. No photo today, for nothing has changed in two weeks.

Quite a bit of chest soreness today, including my triceps. This is highly unusual; I rarely get noticeable triceps soreness.
I am backing off of creatine in the next month. even though I am drinking about 120 ounces of water a day, it is leaving me feeling thirsty at all hours of the day.
Also, I am switching to Met-RX protein bars. MLO Xtreme were ok, but as I am ditching creatine for a while, I will not be eating them. (MLO contains 5 grams of creatine)

A great day today. My chest numbers rocketed up, finally breaking through a slow 3 weeks of slug-like progress.
I am a firm believer in the following: to break through bench plateaus, push like mad for progress in your delts and triceps.
Diet-wise, I have to re-commit myself. It’s not that I’m eating bad - not at all - but rather that I am sneaking about 300 extra calories worth of apples and tomatoes this month. This may be why my weight loss has been slower. I am limiting myself to 1 pre-bedtime apple.
Chest workout
Bench Press, 205×8, 205×5, 205×4
DB Bench Press, 65×10, 65×10

4 months down, and wow, has my life - and lifestyle changed. I used to eat junk at every meal, except for dinner of course, where I would eat 10 pounds of healthy food followed by 10 pounds of junk.
120 days later, I’ve eaten less junk in 4 months than I would have normally eaten in a weekend.
I have made a decision. I will NOT train for powerlifting. This doesn‘t mean that i will not consider it in the future, but simply means that I will stick to my normal bodybuilding routine. If I get strong enough to compete in powerlifting, so be it.
After trying and thinking and trying and thinking about the Westside program, I found that I simply don’t care for it. i am a bodybuilder at heart; a bodybuilder who enjoys lifting heavy.
Lastly, my Fat Daddy blog is pretty much a sleeper. What started as a weight loss journey has become what you see now - a log of my weightlifting. That is the path my life has taken, and while my life is thriving, by weight loss blog gets less visits than a Dentist office on Halloween.
Thanks for all of you who still pop in. I will continue to blog.
This month has been a weight loss month from hell. I weighed in at 229.0 on Saturday, and today found that I was BACK at 232.2. Yes, I have lost fat and gained muscle, but it hasn’t been the best of months. I am not discouraged though, as I live for the next day and the next challenge.
I hope each of you succeeds in your journey, whatever it may be. Don’t get discouraged. This is our only life, and only hope. Make it the life you dream about.

I was feeling wide awake and energetic today, ready to set a new max in squat, and feeling like I could. Unfortunately, I didn’t. Oh, well …I’ll get it next time.
The last 3 days (before today), I had been feeling tired, and have had a headache. Maybe it’s those 3 Tootsie Rolls I have been sneaking every day.

O! O! Oatmeal, how I love thee so! Swaggled down with a protein drink, you make my muscles grow!
There you have it, poetry. I will never attempt poetry again, unless I decide to.
Anywho, I am eating my oatmeal, waiting for the Green Bay packers to play, having finished an update over at Muscle and Brawn. Check it out, if you have time.
Yesterday was a back day for my wife. She wanted to do something new, instead of boring old dumbbell rows. I had her try rack pulls. She is sore today, and loves it. I think my wife is secretly a powerlifter. Who knew?
