Why Men Piss Me Off:

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

They can run outside whenever it’s convenient for them.

Picture this: it’s a lovely summer night. A perfect night for a run. It’s also the perfect time to go grocery shopping, go to the post office, pick up some laundry, etc. By the time I get home from all of my errands, it’s dark. What’s a girl to do?

I’d like to run; I have the energy and the free time. Right. Now. But it’s dark. So I can’t. I simply DO NOT HAVE THAT OPTION. I’m a girl. It’s unsafe.

And it’s not an excuse, it’s a fact. My neighborhood is dangerous. After dark, a girl best stay in. The only time I can go out for late runs is with my boyfriend, and he hates running. So you can see how that goes. None of my friends enjoy fitness so he is my only hope at times like these.

And another thing: they can eat howEVER many calories they want to.

It’s true. Men on diets always lose like 37 pounds more than women on the same diet.

Cut out soda? Man loses 20 pounds; woman loses 5.

On a cutting diet? Men, cut down to, eh, 2000 calories a day (as opposed to the 4000+ you were taking in before) and run twice a month for 20 minutes– you’ll lose 10 pounds! Women, you must restrict to 1200 calories (as opposed to the 1500 you were taking in before!!) and do some starved cardio every morning for a month for an hour to get the same benefits!!!

OK, I realize I’m in BITCH mode. I just needed to vent. I’m done :)

The Life and Times of a College Girl

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

I have recently noticed that this site is made up of mostly older people. While this is very motivating and I am so proud of everyone for reaching their goals and even having the courage and intelligence to take fitness seriously as a lifelong journey/goal, I am a college student. And it’s so hard to find other young people like myself to look to as motivators– even to look to as fellow fitness junkies!

Not to mention the temptations of college.. the horrible cafeteria food, the parties, the alcohol! Ugh. It’s so hard to eat right and stay healthy. I feel my self-discipline slowly slipping away!

I guess the point of this blog is to ask if there is anyone out there who feels the same way and can relate? And if anyone has any tips to how I can stay motivated and disciplined? I know it’s all in my head but I don’t want to slip. I want to have a healthy body free of crappy food and fat and full of lean muscle. I want to be a lean and mean fighting machine!
