I was doing really well with my diet right before I left for vacation in Europe. I did ok on vacation too. Though I probably didnt eat enough while I was there and the only excersize I got was walking and climbing monuments (which I did A LOT of). It was a good body shock and I hopped right back on the diet and the training when I got back. I swear I was stronger too than when I left. I did well for about a month until a couple weeks ago when I started going out and having a few with the boys and then this week when I basically didnt go to the gym at all and did a lot of beer drinking with my friends. I need to stay disciplined. Its my biggest downfall. My weight was down a little when I first returned and I started to put some mass on but I know the "fun" is killing my efforts. Its a constant struggle I have to balance my fitness with my social life. Knowing what you need to do and doing it are two very different things.

I went back to school this past year. I’ve been working full time since April of 2002. I decided to go back for one of my dream jobs and I’m learning to be a Drafting and Technology Education teacher. Its been a great experience so far. Last semester I took two night classes. This semester I took 4. I managed. But something had to give and often it was my workouts. Now with the semester coming to an end and summers on the door step I’m looking forward to training again. Typically when I’m at the gym I only do weight training. Sometimes I do cardio, but I try to get my cardio in with my various hobbies. A couple days ago I bought a cheap adjustable 40lbs weight set from Dick’s Sporting goods. I wanted to have something for home that I could supplement my weight training should I miss a day or want to add a day to the weekend (cause my gym is at work and I usually go during lunch).
Today is a really nice day and I’m stuck inside writing a paper. Blah! Oh well. I finish up school this week and my girlfriend finishes up next week and the two of us are going on a two week, much needed, vacation together. I’m a bit worried about the vacation too. I will have to really make sure I enjoy myself without over indulging. I’m going to try and get in a little mini routine in the morning. Some push-ups and crunches. Any ideas are welcome. We will be walking everywhere so that will be at least more activity than sitting in my chair at work or school. LOL!
…ugh back to my paper.
The Buffalo Sabres are playing game 6 of the series with the NY Rangers today. I’ll take a break then and try and catch some of the game.

Well I attended my first show today. A kinda hokey show at a HS auditorium. Not the best run show ever but there were a few decent competetors there. I went with 3 guys from my gym at work. We have a great little gym at work. Right on site, only 12 bucks a month. I go durring lunch. Well a few people in there have been doing bodybuilding shows. And they win their classes. It really is kinda inspiring. So two of these guys, Jeff and Rich, asked myself and another guy, Jason, if we wanted to go check out this show. Another co-worker Kelly was competing in the show. She looked as though she was going to do well. Again the show wasn’t the best run ever, but entertaining enough. We didn’t stay for the whole thing. Just went for the morning pre-judging. It was interesting. Even with it being kind of a corny contest, it didnt deter me from wanting to train for a show. Still not sure I’m going to be able to stand up there in some little speedos and let some group of strangers judge me. The concept is still difficult for me to accept. But I would love to be in much better shape. We will see. There is a show in the area that all these same people that I work with, will be entering in October. I am going to try and bulk up now through June. Then I will attempt to cut through the summer til August where I have set a goal of 9% bodyfat. If I can be disiplined enough to get to that point, I will concider that october show.
