Well, still haven’t made it back to the gym as of yet (very busy with work with early mtgs/appts, and kids with homework early evening), but I DID get up and go for a run — well, WALK — on Monday and today. Today is Halloween, so after I get my kids settled this evening (14 and 11), I think I’ll head to the gym tonight. Hope all is well with everyone! Have a safe and happy halloween!

I’m disappointed in myself. I’ve been eating OK, I guess, but I haven’t been to the gym since LAST Friday, Oct 19th! I have been doing a few light weights here at home, but not like I would if I went to the gym. I HAVE to keep myself motivated. Wish I had someone to lift with on a regular basis, but guess I have to be committed to myself before I can expect anyone to commit to me, too. Keep your fingers crossed… and let’s hope that I’m able to add some muscle soon…

Wow, the legs workout I did yesterday is kicking in today. Even my glutes are a bit sore. I could NOT get myself up and moving for the gym this morning BEFORE work, but I will try and get myself to the gym later today. Didn’t Arnold say, "No pain, no gain"? I guess this is what he was referring to. But, it’s a good pain… at least I know I have muscles there!

but not with a barbell. Sort weight plates loaded on something with handles that you could also do lunges with. Did three sets with a whopping 180 lbs… two 45’s on each side. Wow, while it felt heavy for me, looks like nothing compared to what so many other guys are doing.

Today I could not lift in the early AM before work as I had an early meeting. I went to the gym at 3 PM and it was a different crowd. I was able, however, to meet a friend and lift with him. It’s so much better with a training partner.
My lower back on the right side began to bother me about halfway through training this afternoon. Can’t say that I recall any specific movement where I felt I may have strained my back. I’m just hoping that it’s a minor sprain and not kidney stones… I’ve had them before, and hope that I’m not having yet another attack! Cross your fingers!
Can’t say that I’m actually following any specific training regimen (such as a true split routine), but I’m still focusing on just getting to the gym with some degree of regularity. In the next few weeks, I’ll work more on having a better game plan regarding targeted bodyparts and specific lifts.

Man, I’m tired. But, off for Columbus Day tomorrow. Still going to the gym early tomorrow. Trained three days on, rested today. Did back and legs yesterday… LOVE the tight feeling (slight soreness) in my upper back… makes me feel I DO have some muscle there!
