Vacation is over

August 6, 2008

OK…Vacation time is now over and I once again resume the everyday normal life. I’m too scared to check my weight right now, I know I over indulged while I was gone. Summer is coming to an end and my body was never bikini ready…but that’s OK. There’s always next year. As long as I stay focused on my goal. I will be weighing myself once I get back into my routine again. Hopefully that will be soon. I’m thinking of starting Hydroxycut, I’ve read positive things about it. I might pop those pills for a month or 2 and then take a break. Maybe that will jump start my eating right (and less) again.

Update

May 30, 2008

I finally have a workout partner! We just completed week 4 of our workout (which is found in M&F mens magazine). I’ve never had a partner before, and I understand the benefits of having one now. I am less intimidated to try out new exercises with her and I’m able to push myself that extra little bit that is needed.

Before I started this workout I was down to 169, but fat % was stagnate. Once I started, I gained weight, up to 179…but fat % was dropping, and I wasn’t focused on my eating. It’s now starting to fall again. I’ve been trying to focus on my eating habbits, it still needs some work. My sweet tooth is my problem. I’m good about eating all my meals until around 2 pm - 4 pm. That’s my snacking time. AHHH! I get so frustrated with myself! I just have to keep trying until I get into the habbit of not going for the junk food at that time. Maybe now that my kids are finished with school and I don’t have to stay home and wait for them, I’ll be able to leave the house during that time frame. This will ensure I won’t eat the junk. I’m pretty much OK after that. I think it’s just a habbit that formed during early childhood years of snacking on junk after school. Old habbits are the hardest ones to break.

Finally! Something that works!

March 21, 2008

I’ve been dong trial and error of eating clean, trying to get the right combination of p/c/f ratio at each meal, but I seemed to be staying at the same weight. Everytime I would lose 1 pound, next week it will be back. Now I’ve scrapped that and I’m trying something new (a program I found out about). I’m still eating clean and 5 - 6 meals a day, but I’m not calorie counting like I was or weighing out food. If it continues to work, I’ll post what it is in my blog. I’ve only been doing it for 1 week, but I’ve finally been able to get below 179 (which I haven’t been able to do in a long while).

Only an update, nothing new

February 18, 2008

Just updating my blog. I’ve maintained my weight for the past month. I have not been focusing on what I eat or really do during exercising. Everyone here in the house has been sick, I think they all had what I had last month. Now it is finally dying down. I’m trying to make time for myself, but sometimes I find that challenging. Class courses have resumed and that takes up a lot of my free time. I updated my exercise log since I’m no longer training for the triathlon. I finally wrote out a meal plan with all the info on it so I have something visually to look at throughout the day. I think at this point it will be a great accomplishment if I’m able to complete one day of my meal plan…even better…the whole week. That is my goal for this week. To eat ONLY what is on my 7 day meal plan, and nothing else (so long as I don’t get sick). It’s a good plan that has a good protein, carb, and fat ratio. I’ve also calculated my caloric needs and subtracted from that number to make sure I don’t consume too many calories. I’ll try to post next week as to the success…whether or not I was able to do at least 1 day or all 7 days of my plan for this week.

Will this ever end?

January 19, 2008

Ok, so I’m back to my weight before Christmas and New Years, but it wasn’t done the right way. Again, I find myself sick for the past 2 weeks unable to go to the gym. I still think it will be another week before I will be able to get back into any routine. I’m on the verge of giving up my March triathlon since I’ve missed now a combined total of 1.5 months workout. All is not lost though. There is still a inline skating marathon at the end of March. I still have time to train for that, but I’m not sure if I want to. I seem to lose all motivation to do anything when I stop exercising. I feel lethargic. Hopefully next week will bring something good.

Trying to get back into things

January 4, 2008

OK parties are over and time to get back on track… I’ve been trying to get back into my training also, it’s hard. I went to the gym the other day to do my swim training and the pool was so crowded! (my guess is the New Years resolutioners have come to invade the pool for the next 2 months before they give up and get on with the rest of the year) Anyways, I had to share a lane with someone who took too long to swim across for me to get in any decent endurance training. After the person left it was nice, I was able to do 9 minutes without stopping before it was time for me to move onto the bike. As for my nutrition, well, obviously it needs some work. I did gain 3 lbs. after all. Family Christmas was nothing but dried up turkey and globs of fattening casseroles. I’m so unmotivated to eat right. I think I’ll reread my Eat Clean Diet book. I hope it will help change my mind set. I’ll also try to read some more articles on here. Hopefully in 2 weeks or less my weight will have dropped back to 180 or less and I can move forward with my goals of losing weight and completing my first triathlon.

Another Week Gone

November 28, 2007

I find myself once again with a sore throat and sinus infection due to sudden weather changes. I’m so frustrated. I’ve now had to put my training on hold for a 3rd week because of it. Nothing has changed much since I last updeated my stats except I’ve probably lost muscle and gained fat instead. I know I haven’t gained any weight, I’ve already checked. I’ll update my stats at the beginning of next month. Hopefully I’ll be feeling better and back on track.

Blah Blah Blah!

November 15, 2007

Nothing has changed except my eating habbits. They’ve been terrible! I hope to be able to get back on track, especially with the holidays around the cornor. Everyday is a new day and a new struggle. Honestly, I’ve been slacking off on my exercises too. I have 2 days to make up now for my swim, bike, and run. I still haven’t started weight training again since I’ve been sick. Main reason I think for my slack is laziness. That and I start reading a new book and couldn’t put it down. Thank God I finished it. Maybe I’ll be able to focus more now, or at least until I pick up another book.

Feeling Better

November 2, 2007

I’m feeling better now, still a little sick, but nothing that will prevent me from picking up where I left off. I think the weight loss I’ve had has been muscle tissue since I’ve done nothing except take up a new hobby known as couch potato. Soup was great, but I’m tired of soup. I think I got tired of it after the third day and wanted junk food. Yes, I did indulge a little, but oh well, nothing I can do about it now. As of yesterday, I’m back on track. I had an oportunity to read "Eat Clean Diet" and enjoyed it. Thanks to all who have posted it as their favorite BB books, otherwise I might not have ever read it. I will be following her advise and start taking a cooler with me where ever I might go. It makes since, the only time I eat junk is if I’m not prepared while I’m out of the house.

Swim class was great. The instructer was able to help with my freestyle stroke and breathing. It’s still not perfect, but I can already feel the difference. Hopefully, I will learn proper breast stroke techniques and the butterfly.

Answers to a bad week, last week

October 29, 2007

Last week I was complaining about how it just wasn’t my week. Now, I know why. I have a sinus infection. Nothing that bad, but I’ll be taking the week off, except for my 2 swim classes. Next week I’ll just pick up where I left off. Hopefully the cold like symptoms will have vanished by then. I don’t believe this is from overtraining. I’m noticing I always get sick around the beginning of November till the beginning of January off and on. Must be an alergy of some sort over here where I live. No updates will be posted until I’m feeling better. My diet will be consisting of soup, soup, and more soup… None of that canned shit, I make it from scratch. I don’t understand how people can eat canned soup, ugh! I’ve had it before and I want to vomit everytime I have opened one. It looks like premium dog food, smells similar too.
