Pushing for more results…

I now feel like I have the getting to the gym thing nailed down.  I feel as though I am progressing with the weights and have a solid routine (for now).  Problem is, though I can feel the results, I can’t see them. 

 Starting this week I am going to start focusing on my nutrition.  The plan is to start cycling between 2 weeks of about 1200 calories and 2 weeks of about 1800 calories until I hit my goal weight. 

I also am starting to think about switching to 6 weeks of a full body workout instead of splits like I am doing when I hit the 6 week mark.  I still need to do some research on that one, but I am definitely shaking things up a bit once I hit 6 weeks.

It’s nice when someone notices…

Today, I went to the gym at the usual time.  As I was moving from one room to the next (the machines are separate from the free weights), one of the staff members commented on my dedication.  I laughed and told her I was trying.  She said that she could see a difference since I started coming there 4 weeks ago.  Now, my husband tells me those things, but I take it with a grain of salt because he is personally invested in my happiness.  To hear it from an objective 3rd party felt pretty good.

OK, so I gave up for a while.

Winter came and it became harder to get myself out and exercising.  But with summer approaching I have new motivation.  I have been back at the gym for 4 weeks now.  My measurements don’t reflect that much of a change, but I can feel the muscles and my husband swears he sees a difference.  I think I need to take progress pics again so that I can see the difference (not that he would lie, but he may exaggerate to keep me motivated!).  I definitely feel better.  I added more intense cardio this time around.  I had always tried that in the past, but would end up sucking wind pretty badly.  Turns out that I have exercise induced asthma.  Now that I have an enhaler, I still suck wind, but now it’s just because I am out of shape and pushing it.  So far, the 5 am thing is working out for me.
