Well I finally felt comfortable doing a really heavy leg day. Man O Man what a lift. Now granted it was now where near where I need to be in terms of strength but it felt so good to do squats again. I had a old gym buddy of mine workout with me today just to push me a little more. Here is what my workout was today
Warm-up…10mins on treadmill max elevation
Leg extentions 1 set 30 reps
Squats 1 warm up set with 20 reps 4 working sets going from 12 reps to 6 (I could go up on weight but didn’t want to chance it just yet with my back)
Hamstring curls seated 4 sets 12 reps to 6
Leg extensions 4 sets 12 reps to 6
Legg Press 4 sets 12 reps to 6
Seated calf raises 4 sets of 25
15 minute cool down on treadmill walking
So I know this is not some super powerful routine but it felt good to get back in there and push the weight around. I look forward to working legs again next week. Now it is time to prepare for Chest and tris.
I have still not weighed myself as I am not really that interested in it. I do however look in the mirror on a daily basis to see what is changing. Here is to being back in fighting shape.

Well another week has come and gone. I have stuck to my diet and only had one cheat meal which was not all that bad anyway. I feel really good and can not wait to start my workouts this week. I still have not weighed in as I am sticking to my once a month weigh in and measurements. I have had some folks notice some changes so that is always good. My daughter and I have been playing basketball almost everyday and that is a lot of fun. I should have my intial measurements up this week and my first pics that I took when I started. This will serve as some extra motivation.
Weight training has been good but not at all where I want to be in terms of amount of weight, but I know I did not get this week overnight and will take some time to get it back. Cardio sessions continue to be after workouts as that is the best time for me to complete it.
My average daily intake is around 2600cals at 275g or protein and 200g of carbs. this may seem to be to low and if it is I will adjust it once I weigh in again. Thanks and here is to next week.

Well during my first five days went pretty quick as I kept my diet in check and was able to hit all of my lifts as well as my cardio. I have not weighed or checked my measurments and will not for another month. I will upload my pic as soon as possible and I will load my measurments soon as well. This will be one of the greatest transformations yet. It felt good to be back in the gym after such a long lay off. To have that soreness again is such a painful pleasure. The only downside is that I have lost so much strength and that is kind of sad. Although with muscle memory I am hoping to be close to my old strength in a year. Not really worried about it as long as I see progress. Stay Tuned

Wow a blog about fitness and bodybuilding. What a wonderful concept. When I was in the army I literally got all of my information from magazines and the big guys in the gym. I also had built a very extensive library to better my knowledge of the human body. It was funny after a few years of this I became the big guy in the gym others would ask for help. Oh little did I know I would loose it all one day.
So as you know from my bodyspace page I have been out of the game for a long time and have ballooned up. I know what I need to be doing and even what others should be doing but for over a year I was unable and unwilling to do so. Well after playing some basketball with my daughter I decided it was time I get off of my dead butt and get back in shape. I want to ensure she grows up with the knowledge of taking care of herself and ensuring she never has to battle the buldge. My daughter is very active in cheerleading and basketball and eats rather well. Ok enough about her.
I want to loose approximately 75lbs before Oct 1, 07. So i will be posting my diet and my workouts on my blog to get comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance for the support.
