The scale may not tell the whole story

Hard gainer here. Been hitting it hard and eating like mad for the past two months. Looking in the mirror, I look more muscular and bigger. Friends agree, but over the past 8 weeks, I’ve barely gained 3 pounds. So, I decided to pull out the TAPE MEASURE. Low and behold, up 0.5inches in the arms, thighs, chest and shoulders each. Up 1.5 inches in the calves and down 0.5 inchines in the waist! My realization is that despite the slow gains, it apparently is quality lean mass. So I’ll keep on the same course for now. If I can post another 2-3 pounds of lean mass in the next two months, that would be awesome! For all of  you out there looking to make gains, check you scale periodically, but don’t forget the tape measure!

Agreed! The scale sucks! Measurement, mirror FTW!

Nice job on the increases in LBM!

Thats so true man. Im losing weight and sometimes i feel leaner and my weight is slightly up from the day before im almost about ready to toss my scale(even though its pretty good) out the window. It drives me nuts sometimes.

You had probably lost some fat and/or water and replaced them with pure muscle.
You may remember one of my past comments was "more isn’t always better" (in this instance ,more wt ).
I’m an advocate of quality over quantity and a firm believer in the tape measure and the mirror
