Someone just said to me last night (as I casually mentioned that I was heading to the gym), that life is too short to "waste" time in a gym when there are so many other things to do. That made me pause for a minute. I was curious as to what these "other things to do" are, so I asked. I was informed that going to the bar for a few drinks, watching several hours worth of reality shows on television, and baking sugary treats are all much better ways to spend time. While I agree that going out for a few drinks with friends, watching television, and baking treats are worthwhile activities and should be enjoyed from time to time, I do not agree that we should consider "gym time" a waste of time. Think about it...if we do not take care of our bodies, life will indeed become much shorter.
