Eating Clean…. Part 1

d@mn cake

ok so today was the first day in my ‘eating clean’ diet….whateva that means. Ok well for starters I have nothing healthy in my house to eat so I still have to eat out all the junk food before I can actually start. And no i am not about to throw it away…waste not want not :)

Anyway…so my day begins. I go to the gym at 5:30am and get in 20 mins cardio, 45 mins of leg work and 15 mins on abs, then i head home to get ready for work. For starters I had a bowl of cereal @ 8am….I plan on changing my breakfast to oatmeal since it seems to be the meal of champions for all you sexy looking people out there. But i can’t start on it til the cereal is done. But it was a fairly small bowl so i don’t think it did too much damage.

At 10am I had a handful of nuts. I was told that nuts is ‘good fat’ and i actually like them so it worked for me. I am not going to mention that it is honey roasted peanuts that probably has too much sugar in it anyway….the point is that it is still NUTS….right???:S

At 12pm….time for lunch….now this is when it started to go downhill. I was invited out by a friend for lunch. We went to a seafood restaurant. So this is the challenge….’what to order?’ So while overlooking the vast menu i totally forget that i am ‘eating clean’ and order a seafood platter that contained salmon, shrimp, a crab cake, an oyster and scallops. As terrible as that all sounds it was a really small amount of everything so it really was not that big. I think I more messed up on eating the bread that they placed on the table. Anyway so that was over and then the STUPID waiter comes to the table with a tray of dessert……………..grrrrrrrr……this is when he got me:(. I was so upset with him…needless to say i ordered a chocolate mousse cake to go :)

I saved the cake for later on that afternoon all the while hoping that I would have the strength not to eat it and throw it in the trash. Unfortunately that did not happen. By 6 pm while driving home I got stuck in traffic and the cake came out….. and that was that :(

To make myself feel a little better I got home and immediately did 25 mins of abs….then sat on my bed thinking that the only just punishment for my bad behaviour today would be no dinner. So as i finish write this i am heading straight to bed with hopes of getting this ‘eating clean’ thing right tomorrow (whatever that is)….lol

 So until then….

you might aswell be me. I made it to 3 weeks once… and god I felt good and saw huge changes, then I had an unavoidable tri which ruined it all.
Now I can’t make it to that 3 weeks again, I know if I did it would be easier to keep going.. maybe we should kick eachothers arses??

Me again. Ok. LOL @ eating clean after all the junk has been eaten first! TOO FUNNY! But seriously, it takes a while to incorporate it all and it won’t happen overnight, either. Let me tell you, right now I feel like I’ll kill someone if I see or smell another can of tunafish! I’ve been "eating clean" for about 4 months now and I’m getting so bored with my options. I mean, really, how many ways can you make chicken?? (Ha! Don’t answer!) But the really cool thing is that once you start eating clean and up to six times a day your stomach kinda shrinks to accomodate those smaller meals and you’ll find that you won’t want to eat large, heavy meals (well, at least this is true for me). I had a slice of pizza a week ago and thought my stomach was going to explode from the gas and icky aches I got afterwards! Meanwhile, six months ago I could have downed an entire pie in one sitting! Good luck and let me know if I can help in any way!!

I weaned myself into eating clean. Rome wasn’t built in a day right? I started by giving up chocolate and potato chips, then reduced my coffee intake to only one a day…..and cut out the pop in favour of water or milk. Now I am about 90% eating clean, and I’m really starting to see the results….maybe you should try a more gradual approach. Giving everything up cold turkey has got to be tough, I don’t think I coulda done it

    Too funny…"waste not want not!!"

You’ll get that eating clean thing down if you really want it…You just need to learn a few tricks to fighting off urges. There are so many tasty alternatives but most people don’t know about them. When you get that, it makes it a lot easier. But you have to ask yourself, "do I really want it?" BTW…your carnival costume looks great. See you there!
