Mix it up!!
Hey people, just a little info I wanted to shout out to all those who might be stuck in their plateau right now. I was stuck at 275 on my bench for about a month. I decided to quit using the barbell alltogether and only use heavy dumbbells. Well, after about 3 weeks I decided to crawl back under that bar for another shot. 275 for 3 reps, the dumbbells really helped my strength. I recommend that if you are stuck, try going to them for awhile. Keep up the good work people.

As you have figured out, the number one reason for reaching a plateau is because your body adapts to the same thing over and over and over.
I’m glad you found a way to break your plateau. Dumbbells are awesome, and should be incorporated into almost every workout! You can also try pullups, pushups, cables, etc.
For the plateau reason, I choose not to use the barbell bench that often.
