got sick?

July 8, 2007

everyone, this sucks.  I got sick on the 4th. I believe it is just a stupid head cold, but I haven’t been able to lift and I don’t feel like eating. I have already lost 5 pounds in two days.  It’s 90 degrees out and I can’t do shit. Any ideas on how to gain the weight back quick? Any supps anyone takes to fend off colds? Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks, JT

I am addicted to mountain dew, i drink at least 1 liter a day.  Could this be a reason my cutting is so hard to do?

Knee trouble

June 14, 2007

Hi everyone, I have been trying to do squats for mass in my legs, but I have a very bad knee, I know the miniscus is tore and I think the ACL is stretched or something, all I know is that it hurts to bend and keep straight.  Any ideas on what I can do to still add mass to my legs until my knee can be fixed. Thanks.

Stuck again!!

June 10, 2007

I have tried boards, bands, dumbells, barbells, everything I though imaginable, but i can’t break the 300 plateau on my bench. My decline is over 300, but the flat just won’t go over 300. It has been two weeks now, any one on here got any new ideas? Any info would be appreciated.

another good deadlift idea

June 8, 2007

lately on the deadlift I have been struggling using the straight bar, so I changed it up to the shrug triangle.  I can lift about 50 pounds more on the triangle, so it pushes me a little harder at the top.  If you are having trouble with the straight bar, or it hurts your back, try the triangle.

bands on the bench

June 8, 2007

hey, after I tried the boards, a buddy came into the gym with a set of bands that go over the barbell and add 40lbs. at the bottom and 80lbs. at the top.  These things are awesome, they make your muscles work harder at the top where the muscle is at it’s strongest.  They are going to make a huge difference. Anyone needing to add a few pounds to their bench should really try these things out.

Using boards on the bench

June 2, 2007

hey people, lately I have been using boards on the bench press, It amazed me at how much stronger they make you.  I can do 315 for a set of 5 with 3 boards on my chest. these boards help different parts of your lift, and I recommend them to bust through your plateaus. Any questions feel free to ask.  Good luck.

Mix it up!!

May 23, 2007

Hey people, just a little info I wanted to shout out to all those who might be stuck in their plateau right now.  I was stuck at 275 on my bench for about a month. I decided to quit using the barbell alltogether and only use heavy dumbbells.  Well, after about 3 weeks I decided to crawl back under that bar for another shot. 275 for 3 reps, the dumbbells really helped my strength.  I recommend that if you are stuck, try going to them for awhile.  Keep up the good work people.
