Ok i just had the craziest leg day since i started working out! So me and my lifting buddy went to the gym on wednesday to do sum leg workouts and play basketball. We started out with leg extensions, then leg curls and calf raises. Each exercise with 4 sets or more. At the end of my routine I usually do leg presses or squats to finish everything out. I started with my usual warm up of leg presses doing 10 reps at a total of 270lbs. It felt unusually easy so for my first set I did a total of 450lbs. This was also unusually easy as I did 12 reps. My friend was like dude wtf are u taking! An I was like idk whats happin but lets keep loadin up plates! The 2nd set I did 8 reps at 540lbs. More than I have ever done and more than I’ve ever tried. This got my blood pumping and I wanted more weight. So for the 3rd set I did 7 plates on each side for a total of 630lbs. While trying to focus on the huge weight I was gonna try to lift I noticed almost everyone lifting around me stopped to watch and some dudes called over there buddies to come watch "the little kid." This made me nervous but even more focused to move this weight. 3 reps later I locked out the machine and stood up to dropped jaws and hella sore legs haha but the greatest feeling of accomplishment came over me and I felt respected by the bigger guys as they nodded in approval as a 150lb kid just out lifted them. The next day my legs were on fire and I couldn’t wait for leg day next week to try more weight.

A couple weeks ago i met up with some friends at the gym to play basketball and was amazed at how huge my friend had got in the month i didnt see him. 18lbs in 5 weeks!!! I asked him what he was taking and he replied a weight gainer from GNC. Now GNC is already overpriced to begin with and I didnt have any money to burn on supplements so i decided to make my own weight gainer from food in my house. I take this twice a day for around an extra 1600 calories. Heres a list of the stuff i use and calories from each ingredient. Its only been a week since i started taking this but i already have alot more energy during cardio sessions from the extra calories and i’ve gained 2 pounds. I hope to gain 15 lbs from this stuff and i hope this recipe will help others who are short on cash.
- 1 cup 2% milk = 140 cal.
- 2 scoops fruit punch Creatine supp. = 300 cal. and 10 g creatine
- 2 tbsp. of peanut butter = 190 cal
- 2 tsp. of vegetable oil = 240 cal
TOTAL = about 870

Over a month ago i was unable to gain mass and my strength gains all of a sudden stopped. So I decided to change my workout routine from 5 days a week to 3 days. With more recover time I also stopped working only certain body parts each day and now do full body workouts. Each exercise I do now is to failure with enough weight to make me fail before 10 reps. With more intensity I also cut back to a max of 2 sets per exercise with 2 exercises per body part. After 3 weeks the results scared me. I gained 5 lbs of mass and was able to increase the weight of every exercise I did! I’m not sure if it was the only to failure exercises or the shock my body went through, but the results were crazy and anyone who has hit a plateau should definetly try this routine.
