my weight while off work

Friday, September 28th, 2007

Ok, I was thinking that while I was off work and working out for two weeks because of my surgery, I’d gain at least five to ten pounds.  The truth is, I didn’t gain any!  I kept my eating schedule the same as I always did; my five small quality meals and yes, even made sure I got my cheat day in too.  I guess my weight right now is at another plateua; it’s going between 247 and 248; that’s why it’s more today by a pound.  Now that I’m back working out I’ll see what happens with it.  A part of me is starting to think this is supposed to be my weight.  But who knows?  I’ll have to weight and see!

Back to work!!

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Monday was my first day back to work since my hernia surgery.  It went fine.  But, because I’ve been out of work for two weeks, I have to get my butt in gear again to the whole routine of it!  I did do my cardio today but boy, I’m dragging my assets tonight!  I also did start to gym back to my old routine on Monday too.  I think the past two days just kind of caught up with me today and gave me a bit!  It’s ok; I’m bitting back and giving it hell! :)

went back to the gym yesterday…

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

…after being away from almost two weeks. (it was because of hernia surgery–it had nothing to do with lifting)  I decided to take it easy and did a full body, one set for each body part, routine.  I wasn’t sure if my stomach would be sore from using my abs while lifting but, I’m happy to say this morning I have NO soreness at all!  I thought I’d be sore because I’ve been away for awhile–I guess I’m still in good shape and all that hard work’s paid off!  I’m also happy that I haven’t gained any weight while being away; I stuck with my eating program while off.  So, Monday I head back, start working it hard again, and that means reaching even further towards my current goal!  :)

read this and had to share it…

"The character of greatness must be measured in two ways, else the measurement is flawed. First, and by far most popular of all, is by one’s ability to succeed in times of trial where others may fail. But of no less importance, and perhaps foundational to any form of greatness, is one’s willingness to start over in spite of failure, when success seems farthest away. "  A great quote to life by, work by and workout by!

Finally!!!

I had my doctor’s visit today.  It’s been two weeks since my hernia surgery and I asked if it would be ok to go back lifting weights again.  He said yes!  Hurray!  Hippy!  Two weeks not being able to workout has been horrible–I can’t wait to get back to the gym!!! :) :)

finallly, back; but just for some cardio…

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

I went back to the gym today but only for cardio. It was my first day back since my hernia surgery on Sept. 6th.  I didn’t go all out like I usually do–I’m still recuperating.  I did walk for 30 minutes and had a good workout!  It was great to be back!! :)

getting all excited and, BAM…gone!

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

I was talking with my friend this morning about this site and how interesting it can be.  One note of interest is when people first join up; they get all gun-ho and excited, have all these great desires and soon drop out.  I think what happens is that there’s an expectation that loosing weight is easy and fast–and I blam all those info-mmercial for that.  It’s not easy and not fast if you do it the right way.  And for me, it’s been an eating program, (I don’t say diet because for me it’s not), weights and cardio 3x a week.  I know that may be a lot for some but I also think there needs to be a commitment on our parts to do it and find that slice of time.  It’s our time for us and no one should be allowed to take that away from you.  Haven’t you done alot for others?  What about you?  Don’t you count for something too?  You do!  Take back your life, pull up the ranes and hold on and suck in–make that commitment and change for the better!  And if no one else around you likes it, too bad for them.

a week later…

…and the pain from my surgery is about 98% gone; thank goodness! I have no pain tolerance at all.  It was funny though, I weighed myself yesterday and actually lost a pound!  I don’t know how; I haven’t been to the gym for the week because of surgery.  I’m still eating my five quality meals a day too.  Hmm..I don’t know!

…a video, showing my 7 month transformation so far.  I got brave and decided to see who I looked at the months passed.  I’m very pleased with my results and I think the video pretty much says it all friends!  Thanks to all of you here for helping me along the way with your comments and encouragement!

weight still the same!

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

so, I thought by now that six days after my surgery, I’d have gained a little weight but I haven’t!  That makes me feel good–I haven’t changed any meals at all; still doing my five small quality meals.  So, maybe that makes a difference too?  I did venture out to the grocery store just to get out; that was a little stupid!  Bending and lifting didn’t hurt alot but it sure wasn’t pleasant either!  I’m just sitting and resting the rest of the day.  I’m suppose to go back next week Friday-can’t wait!!
