Random thoughts:
Supplement notes: I’m going to use Cardio Blast on my leg days and Nitro Fire on my other days. Cardio Blast gives me good energy without the pump, and I do not like to use pump products on leg day!
My legs are a bit toasted already, even though I stretched well.
Adversity is NOT our greatest enemy.. Someone once said.. “Cripple a man and you’ve got Sir Walter Scott.. Lock him in prison and you have John Bunyan.. Bury him in the snows of Valley Forge and you have George Washington. Raise him in poverty and you have Abraham Lincoln.. Deafen him and you’ll have Ludwig van Beethoven. Call him a slow learner, retarded, and write him off as uneducatable and you’ll have Albert Einstein..”

Due to financial complications, I am back to doing my own training for a bit. I am using what I have learned from Hany to improve my workouts, but I have lowered the volume a bit.

Legs/Forearms
Warmup sets omitted, Cardio Blast taken pre-WO
Box Squats
135×10, 185×6 x3
Leg Press
450×12, 540×9, 630×8
Walking BB Lunges
60×14 paces x4
Prone Curls
65 x 21’s x 3
Grip Machine

The grip machine was pretty cool. Now that I’m doing BB I need to work on my forearms.

I have been very fortunate in my brief competitive career. I have competed at the National level, I have met and been inspired by some wonderful people in the fitness industry. I have worked with talented photographers. I have written nutritional plans for novice competitors. The most frequent topic of discussion by other similar minded people is usually about one of my accomplishments I am most proud of - my role as a Prolab sponsored athlete and spokesperson for the Prolab Nutrition supplement line. As part of being a member of Team Prolab, my opinion and input on new supplements is valued. Our research team communicates with our athletes to see what would be most beneficial to us, what a real bodybuilder or figure athlete would like to have at his/her disposal. We are on the verge of the release of a new product. I, along with the other Team Prolab members were able to alpha sample it, and offer our feedback to make it the most effective and best tasting product in its category. Additionally, you’ll be seeing a full page ad for this new product in the May issue of Muscle & Fitness…. featuring yours truly!
I’ll share more details as soon as I’m allowed. Those of you who attended the IronMan Pro may have sampled it already, but we will have samples at the Arnold Classic Expo for sure, so make sure to come by, introduce yourself, and I’ll hook you up with some… ______!

Why I dig Female Bodybuilders
I realize this will not be the most widely shared sentiment… but, such is life…
I am a performance driven person, and am pretty much stuck in that gear, which is why if I am not careful, I drive myself right into the ground.
But being that I am that type of person and dedicated to the discipline to do what I need to in order to achieve what I want, this is why I dig female bodybuilders so much. The beauty of the body aside, like any other athlete, female bodybuilders have that goal and refuse to take their sights off of it… no outlandish excuses, no severe slips of willpower or motivation, and no B.S. broken promises and talk about what they wish they could do, or what they are going to do, but never do it.

She lifts for herself, not for anyone else, but she lifts to achieve whatever she sees to be greatness, in her mind, and she wants it as badly as a panhandling vagrant wants change to be able to collect enough to get his next drink. She is going to do what it takes to become this masterpiece… an improvement upon her already beautiful female form… and letting nothing stand in her way, day by day, she gets closer to it… more width here, better shape there… and yes, that kind of desire and determination is electrifying. That is the type of energy that I have, and that is the type of energy that I need to be around if I do not want mine to dwindle and fade, because I speak from experience. And while the everyday, average woman might possess this same kind of energy, I know for a fact that a female bodybuilder does… there is no guesswork, there is not even the slightest possibility of a “what if” moment, and then to top it all off, a female bodybuilder not only has the courage to rise to their ultimate physical potential, but can feel comfortable in her body while she does it!! Even with constantly wanting to improve, she is far, far ahead of any everyday, average woman and their issues… dealing with that kind of insecurity is a headache in itself… a headache I will not deal with again.
Been there. Done that. Bought the T-shirt. Outgrew it. But… it was the wrong fit to begin with.
If only discerning eyes could fall on the flowing lines and grace of these modern statues, as opposed to only being focusing on what is deemed worthy or unworthy of bedding, and a deeper vision could be used to see that what drives her is the same that drives man in general… betterment of self… I think many more people would be much happier.
The women are beautiful, and the muscle is magnificent. Female bodybuilders (and this is to include Figure and Fitness enthusiasts/competitors as well) have more curves and shape than any regular woman ever could without getting into this. And I have made it a point to not let female bodybuilders be seen as a sex object only… hence, no hardcore pics of any kind in this thread. That kind of thing can be and should be enjoyed… but I want people to face the truth… female muscle is worth the time.

I get so tired of the anti-female bodybuilder talk. Sure, drugs do their
damage to some… no secret there… but more often than not, this is not the case. Just get over it. That does not change the person that a woman is. That is what is wrong with society’s take on female bodybuilders. These are still PEOPLE. Not freaks. Not women wanting to be men…still women. They still have the same heart and soul as before. And really beautiful women are being overlooked… guilty by association. And this is far from right. Is it really any wonder why I disconnect from the general public, and walk alone? The stigma against bodybuilding is one that I cannot agree with, EVER, and for one to talk against the females who enjoy this as much as I do is to talk against me… and I will not subject myself to that.
The human body is a beautiful thing, and our sisters of the iron put a lot into bringing out their perfection. That deserves to be admired, not ridiculed, trashed, or most importantly, not looked upon as just an object based on their appearance. If we, the ones who share the same drive and iron lust in life do not support or cannot accept them, then who will?
With that said, yes, I have to have a female bodybuilder in my life. I just cannot see it any other way at this point.

Arguing that a good workout in at the gym can be taxing enough, the governor’s plan to raise taxes on health clubs is gaining some strong opposition from the fitness industry and enthusiasts throughout the state. NY1’s Health and Fitness reporter Kafi Drexel filed the following report.
Governor David Paterson has proposed to boost the sales tax on health club fees and services four percent to raise more money to fix New York’s ailing economy. Yet many gym members would be feeling the burn in their wallets.
"I think it is ridiculous. I think you should tax fat food and tax pollution, something that is more negative," says gym member Susan Cappozzoli.
"If anything, they should be subsidizing gym memberships and decreasing gym memberships so you could encourage people to go to the gym and avoid obesity and other health issues,? says gym member Joel Feliciano.
Analysts from the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association say an additional tax would be just yet another financial hurdle for new fitness club memberships, which have already decreased in some areas because of the economy.
The fitness industry is also reacting by lobbying against the tax in Albany. Clubs like Equinox have been emailing members on-line, encouraging them to ask lawmakers to block the tax.
"We think the tax is just a big disconnect from Governor Paterson’s direct state policy of promoting a healthy lifestyle," says Equinox chief operating officer Scott Rosen.
Paterson previously said he would tax sugary sodas to help fight obesity, but some wonder whether taxing gym memberships will undo his health advocacy.
"New York State spent $1.6 billion last year for health care costs for obesity. To have this tax discourages maintaining a well-balanced diet and health and fitness," says Senior Vice President David Kastin of Town Sports International. "I would double up the tax on sodas and leave fitness clubs alone."
State health officials are defending the tax proposal, which is still subject to approval by the State Legislature.
"The tax on health club memberships is something we’re doing to raise revenue. There’s plenty of other ways as [State Health Commissioner Richard] Daines said, that folks can get out and exercise, particularly children," says State Deputy Health & Human Services Secretary Joe Baker.
Rosen says that argument leaves a lot out of the equation.
"Many of our members can’t do it on their own," he says. "They need our energy or our space, or our equipment or our staff and our trainers, our group fitness programs. So it’s not just about, ‘Where do I exercise?’"

ScienceDaily (Jan. 30, 2009) — Women with high levels of the sex hormone oestradiol may engage in opportunistic mating, according to a new study by psychology researchers at The University of Texas at Austin.
Doctoral candidate Kristina Durante and Assistant Professor of Psychology Norm Li published their findings in the Proceedings of the Royal Society of London: Biology Letters.
“The study offers further evidence that physiological mechanisms continue to play a major role in guiding women’s sexual motivations and behavior,” Durante said.
